Overall Purpose of the Role:
Defines the manufacturing process and associated equipment for a new product, considering the industrial policy, existing standards and constraints of the project.
Perform industrial documentation for the project & lead the project
Estimate the manufacturing workload for the part corresponding to his domain
Need to handle a team, drive & execute the project ensuring industrial deliverables
Responsibilities
During specification and preliminary design phases:
Gather Industrial requirements Engineering has to comply with, during product specification and design. Explain them to Engineering.
Participate actively to the product design in co-engineering mode, using appropriate methodologies.
Design the macro-process, based on standard SMP.
Prepare introduction of new technologies, if need be, with associated process validation plan.
Identify needs of specific manufacturing equipment
Estimate Method Time and perform a preliminary line balancing.
Identify critical process steps where to perform detailed Process FMEA and full FAR / FAI.
During detailed design phase and before Serial Go:
Industrial documentation, industrial data sheets, IMFU (Industrial Maturity Follow-Up)
Perform P-FMEA.
Participate to validation of prototypes if any.
Develop specifications of industrial means for serial production.
Define workstation layouts, considering ergonomic and EHS rules and optimizing movements.
Validate product design and industrialization through FAR and FAI
Participating in proto build along with engineering team & ensuring all issues are closed
After serial Go:
Industrialize retrofit after engineering changes: documentation, workstation definition / update.
Support Production to achieve manufacturing QCD targets.
Other activities:
Bring his expertise to the industrial Costing Manager during tender phase
Participates in R&D programs as industrial representative
Perform industrial REX on manufacturing processes
Qualifications and Skills
Education:
Engineering degree (Mechanical / Electrical)
Desired Knowledge / Experience
Manufacturing or Manufacturing Engineering background with 7 to 12 years experience preferably in the railway industry / Automobile industry
Technical experience of Process Engineering, writing manufacturing work instructions, line balancing, Manufacturing Engineering & Lean Manufacturing
Experience in working with an ERP (such as SAP) for Bill of Materials, Routings, Configuration followup
Working knowledge in Quality, EHS standards and Ergonomics.
Knowledge of CAD and PLM tools (CATIA, DELMIA…)
Familiar with IS common tools, Process FMEA , QRQC
Able to manage & handle team to manage all industrial deliverables

About the position:
The Process Engineering Lead is part of the Process Engineering and Automation team within Chevron's ENGINE Center. This role supervises a team of Process Engineers that provide technical support to Chevron's business units, such as supporting Operations to troubleshoot and optimize existing operating assets, process design support to capital projects and developing and implementing digital tools to enhance process monitoring. The Process Engineering Lead will manage a team that forms part of a larger Process Engineering function across Chevron, working closely with their counterparts in the Chevron Technical Center (CTC).
Key responsibilities:
- Provide a safe, respectful work environment for the team
- Manage team in support of the team's subject matter consulting for capital projects or existing operations across the enterprise.
- Provide leadership & direction in the areas of process engineering, facility optimization, process simulation, process troubleshooting of equipment items and capital project support.
- Collaborate with functionally linked CTC chapter manager(s) in work assignment and prioritization of the Process Engineering Team in the ENGINE.
- Coordinate training, mentoring, coaching, career development, performance management responsibilities for direct reports.
- Ensure that team and individual deliverables are understood, performance expectations are clear, and that progress is measured and reported.
- Participate in recruitment and hiring within Process Engineering and Automation team
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (B.E./B. Tech) in chemical engineering or related field from a recognized (AICTE) university
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills to interact with Chevron's global employee workforce
- Demonstrated supervisory experience of diverse engineering teams
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven 10-15+ years of process engineering experience in upstream, downstream, LNG or petrochemical process facilities. Possibly through operation support engineering assignments or process design work for capital projects.
- Experience in performing analytical calculations such as mass transfer, fluid flow, heat transfer, fluid dynamics, process control, kinetics and equipment sizing.
- Experience in working with process monitoring tools and process modeling software, such as PI, Seeq, Hysys, PROII, etc.
- Awareness of Process Safety Management concepts and principles such as Process Hazards Analysis, Alarm Objective Analysis, Integrity Operating Windows, etc.

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Scientist in Process Engineering in Inhalation/Injectable for designing and development of formulation process, ensuring quality by design (QbD) implementation, scaling up for manufacturing of batches, coordinating manufacturing readiness, overseeing plant execution, and facilitating seamless technology transfer.
Roles & Responsibilities
- You will be responsible for the delivery of inhalation/injectable products and other suit of products by combining formulation development and process understanding, working closely with the Development & Manufacturing Teams. You will have to coordinate with manufacturing team to ensure plant readiness for given products and execution of trials.
- You will be responsible for exhibiting expertise in inhalation/injectable dosage form, in the areas of Quality by Design (QbD) and process development.
- You will have to demonstrate knowledge of material characteristics and impact on stability and manufacturability to design experiments for validation of assumptions for selection of prototype formulations.
- You will be working with Research and development team for process robustness and optimisation by providing technical inputs w.r.t. scalability, operability and cost effectiveness.
- You will interface with Development and Plant Execution teams, to facilitate translation of engineering principles, execute and leverage their expertise for robust manufacturing process across scales.
- You will be responsible for preparation of technology transfer documents, safety documents, gate meeting presentations, Batch Packing Record Preparation and review; Review of Trial and validation documents in-line with the project timelines.
- You will be responsible to ensure facility preparedness at plant for batch execution against the proposed modifications, batch monitoring in coordination with Cross Functional team (CFT), Trouble shooting of any process related issues at plant; Monitoring project related experiments at vendor sites.
Qualifications
Educational qualification: Masters in Pharmaceutical/ M.Tech in Chemical Engineering
