Job Description

Process Excellence (PEx) Black Belt Leader is responsible for being a change agent, leading improvement teams and working projects focused - Early Development as part of the PEx team. During this full-time assignment, PEx consultants are expected to complete the following: Lead and complete black belt projects within Early Development both locally and globally, coach and mentor business departments leaders, including green belt candidates and provide training to broaden the culture of process excellence within the business unit.
**Duties and Responsibilities:**
+ Leads process improvement teams and directs timely completion of projects that support critical goals and customer satisfaction requirements and serves as the departmental point of contact for specific project initiatives and best practices.
+ Assists process owners, project champions, and business unit leaders to facilitate setting priorities, developing agendas and designing objectives related to Labcorp Drug Development Process Excellence.
+ Train, mentor, coach and challenge others in the use of statistical tools and Process Excellence approaches and techniques to establish a process acumen mindset at the department or process level.
+ Demonstrates Project Management techniques on existing projects by managing multiple priorities effectively and meeting commitments in an accurate and timely manner.
+ Identify and present opportunities to business leaders and champions to improve customer satisfaction, increase net income, enhance productivity and further employee performance across business units within the Early Development business.
+ Identifies and shares leveraging opportunities or best practices across business units within the Early Development business.
+ Support ED project management and process excellence efforts with other duties as assigned.
**Education / Qualifications:**
+ Six Sigma Black Belt certification preferred, Six Sigma Green Belt will be considered.
+ BSc/BA is required; relevant experience may be substituted for education.
+ Engineering degree or other technical background preferred.
**Experience** :
+ 7+ years in Process Excellence/Improvement roles
+ Direct experience working in a global matrix organization.
+ Project Management skills, including an ability to plan and execute projects and meet commitments in an accurate and timely manner.
+ Strong facilitations skills as demonstrated with various levels in an organization.
+ Strong technical skills as applied to obtaining and analyzing business metrics
+ Strong leadership and communication skills to senior leadership at the executive level and above.
+ Pharmaceuticals or Drug Development regulatory (GLP) experience highly preferred but not essential

Process Excellence Consultant (BPO Onboarding)/Business Excellence

Role summary

Lead consulting engagements for new customer onboardings across typical BPO towers.

You will map the current state, design the future state with clear improvement and

automation levers, and stand up the KPI framework and business case—so we can both

sell and deliver measurable value from Day 1 through steady state.


What you’ll do

- Pre-sales & scoping

o Partner with Sales on discovery calls, RFx responses, and proof-of-value

assessments.

o Define scope, approach, and deliverables;
craft proposals/SOW inputs,

timelines, and success criteria.

- Current-state discovery

o Plan/lead workshops, interviews, floor walks;
capture VOC/CTQs.

o Produce SIPOC, BPMN as-is flows, RACI, value-stream maps, capacity

models, and pain-point heatmaps.

o Baseline performance using samples, WFM data, ERP/CRM extracts, QA

reads, and (where available) process mining.

- Future-state design & automation

o Redesign processes for standardization, right-first-time, and digital

enablement.

o Identify and size automation (RPA/IPA, workflow/BPM, integrations, self

service/IVR, knowledge/KCS, GenAI copilots).

o Produce SOPs, controls, acceptance criteria, and a phased implementation

roadmap.

- KPI framework & instrumentation

o Build KPI trees (leading/lagging), formulas, data sources, baselines, targets,

and owners.

o Specify dashboards (Power BI/Tableau) and QA/calibration routines;
design

benefits tracking with Finance.

- Business case & governance

o Quantify value (cost, quality, speed, CX/EX, risk), TCO/ROI, and stage-gate

tollgates.

o Drive change management: stakeholder mapping, comms, training/adoption,

and risk/compliance alignment (SOX/PCI/HIPAA/GDPR as applicable).

- Handover & enablement

o Transition designs to delivery teams with user stories, SOP packs, control

plans, and success criteria.

Core deliverables

- Discovery plan;
SIPOC;
BPMN as-is;
pain-point heatmap;
baseline metrics deck.

- Future-state designs;
SOP/control plan;
automation opportunity register with

value/effort sizing.

- KPI dictionary & dashboard spec (sources, refresh cadence, ownership).

- Value model & implementation roadmap (quick wins + phased rollouts).

- Proposal/SOW inputs and customer-ready executive narrative.

For each KPI the consultant defines: Description, Formula, Data source (CRM/ITSM, ERP,

WFM, QA, EHR for RCM), Baseline, Target, Owner, Frequency, Control limits/actions.


Qualifications

- 5–8+ years in BPO/Shared Services or consulting with hands-on process

improvement and client onboarding.

- Lean Six Sigma Black Belt;
strong facilitation, problem structuring, and storytelling.

- Tooling: BPMN (Visio/Signavio), process mining (Celonis/Power Automate PM),

RPA/IPA (UiPath/AA/Power Automate), WFM/WFO, QA platforms, and BI (Power

BI/Tableau).

- Comfortable scoping GenAI use cases with appropriate controls (PII, auditability,

redaction).

- Excellent stakeholder management across client execs, Ops, IT, and Finance;

proposal/SOW writing experience.

Working model

- Travel up to 20–30% for client sites/centers of excellence.

- May mentor Analysts/GBs;
dotted-line collaboration with site quality/ops leads.

  1. Essential roles & Responsibilities -

Product development through Phase gate process

  • Study the solar market to understand emerging trends, technological advances, and customer requirements (e.G., efficiency, cost, durability).
  • Benchmark existing PV products, technologies, and companies in the market to identify opportunities for innovation or differentiation.
  • Create a clear roadmap detailing the vision, goals, and timeline for product development.
  • Work with stakeholders (marketing, sales, finance, etc.) to define clear and actionable product specifications and features of different BOM material.
  • Facilitate sessions to generate ideas and evaluate product concepts that align with the company's objectives.
  • Conduct characterization and reliability testing such accelerated aging tests, such as thermal cycling, humidity freeze, and UV exposure etc., to ensure the modules meet performance standards over time.

Supplier Qualification & Coordination

  • Work with suppliers to ensure that their production capabilities are compatible with the design of the PV modules, such as size, performance, and durability requirements.
  • Engage in co-development with suppliers to explore the use of new technologies or alternative materials that may provide competitive advantages.
  • Regular testing and qualification are critical to ensure that the supplier's products continue to meet the defined requirements, preventing defects or failures during the module assembly.
  • Conduct supplier visits to assess the supplier's manufacturing processes and ensure they are capable of producing high-quality materials at required scale. This includes reviewing production lines, machinery, and quality control systems.
  • Generate detailed reports that highlight strengths, weaknesses, and areas of improvement for the supplier. Create Action plans with clear timelines for addressing any deficiencies.

Projects

  • Develop understanding of product reliability and its corresponding components’ contribution (based on product performance characterization and defect understanding)
  • Support product qualification process (Provide quality requirements in FMEA, SPC, DOE, Control plan and other processes and procedures as required/suitable)
  • Execute in accordance to QMS requirements (ensure timely updates to documents, WI, SOPs)

Communication and Presentation.

  • To clearly communicate technical concepts to cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, and management.
  • Communicating design changes, testing results, and process performance improvements within teams is essential. This may involve giving clear, actionable feedback.
  • Regularly present updates to senior management or other departments. These presentations often involve technical content, so the ability to present complex information in a simple and structured way is essential.


  1. Required Qualifications, Competence & Skills

Education, Qualification & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Engineering in a recognized University. Good honors degree preferred.
  • 4-9 years related industry experience in Quality Assurance.
  • Engineering knowledge in SPC controls or lean and six sigma methods and software tools.
  • Engineering knowledge in using quality tools for problem solving
  • Aptitude in higher level use of Excel (E.G.: Formulas and Macros) is an added advantage

Technological

  • Interest in following up and developing understanding of the technological developments in the industry on both products and components
