**About the position**
Chevron ENGINE has an exciting opportunity for a Process Monitoring and Optimization Engineer to join the ENGINE Operations team. Reporting to the Process Engineering Manager, this role will be based in Chevron's office in Bengaluru.
Chevron ENGINE supports global operations, and work hours are aligned to business needs. Standard working hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM or 1:30 PM to 10:30 PM, Monday to Friday. These may evolve based on operational or business requirements.
**Key responsibilities**
+ Provides daily monitoring of Specialty Chemicals Production assets and unit operations to identify operating performance opportunities including unit optimization, reliability threat identification, and integrity operating window (IOW) responses amongst other aspects.
+ Develop, maintain, and update process monitoring tools to enhance operational efficiency.
+ Provide input into process design criteria and optimize process technologies and equipment across multiple specialty operations facilities.
+ Develop and maintain detailed process simulation models to evaluate designs and operating scenarios effectively.
+ Review and improve designs to enhance operability, reliability, and ease of maintenance.
+ Apply process engineering and design principles to deliver high-quality and predictable designs for projects.
+ Provide analytical support for complex troubleshooting & investigation teams.
+ Coordinate and participate in HAZOP studies to manage process safety within the plant.
+ Develop process improvement proposals for project implementation and execution.
+ Conduct plant trials for process improvements and raw material qualification.
+ Initiate and manage capital projects to support operational goals.
+ Perform basic Process Engineering Design tasks to support project development.
+ Monitor process trends and product quality to ensure conformance with quality standards.

**Required Qualifications**
+ 5-10 years of process engineering experience in multiple petroleum refinery processes or specialty chemicals technologies.
+ Must have a Chemical Engineering degree, or similar, from an appropriately certified university.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Knowledge of batch, semi-batch, continuous process units, as well as solids transport and solids filtration technology. Work experience in specialty chemical process technologies will be highly regarded.
+ Proficient in Pro II and/or Hysys modeling software.
+ Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and across functional groups.
+ Knowledge in Process Design and Engineering.
+ Familiar with ASME & API codes & standards. Knowledge in HAZOP, Root Cause Analysis, Statistical Process Control (SPC), and engineering tools.

TASKS

As Production Monitoring Officer, you will work in a transnational team.

Your tasks and responsibilities will be to:

- Decide the assignment of the SB draft work order to one of our worldwide production centers (Airbus and Suppliers) by finding the best arrangement according to the SB complexity, the SB priority, the wished draft target date and production financial targets while securing the quality of the deliverable.
- Commit on the full SB draft planning according to the production steps of authoring and control phases
- Adapt your project management to the level of complexity of each SB topics
- Review the progress follow-up of all SBs under your scope with production centers, challenge means and target dates to ensure On-Time Delivery, arbitrate between priorities and take initiative to solve issues that may occur during the authoring phase.
- Perform risk & opportunity analysis on your perimeter, raising actions to mitigate blocking points
- Provide a clear reporting to all stakeholders about the SB status and launch an escalation process if required.
- Support and facilitate communication between the SB authoring teams and the SB technical teams through daily phone calls or mail in order to resolve issues occurring during production.
