A leading chemical manufacturing firm is seeking a highly skilled Process Optimization Engineer to join their team in Mysuru, Karnataka, IN . This role is critical for enhancing operational efficiency, improving product quality, and reducing costs through meticulous analysis and redesign of chemical processes. You will work on-site, collaborating with plant engineers, chemists, and operators to identify bottlenecks, implement innovative solutions, and ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of chemical engineering principles, data analysis, and process simulation tools. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer to contribute to significant improvements in a dynamic industrial environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Analyze existing chemical processes to identify areas for improvement in efficiency, yield, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Develop and implement process modifications and upgrades.
  • Conduct feasibility studies for new process technologies and equipment.
  • Utilize process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS) to model and optimize process parameters.
  • Design experiments to validate process changes and gather performance data.
  • Collaborate with R&D and production teams to scale up new processes from lab to plant.
  • Ensure all process changes comply with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
  • Prepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations on process optimization initiatives.
  • Troubleshoot operational issues and provide technical support to the production team.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement continuous improvement programs.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in process engineering within the chemical industry.
  • Proficiency in process simulation and modeling software.
  • Strong understanding of unit operations, thermodynamics, and reaction kinetics.
  • Experience with statistical analysis and Design of Experiments (DOE).
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong project management and communication abilities.
  • Knowledge of HAZOP studies and process safety management.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles is a plus.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and independently on-site.
