The Technical Product owner I is responsible for leveraging their experience to plan and conduct all levels of product ownership against our software products within an agile team of designers, testers and developers. The candidate will use the provided tools and agile processes to assist software team, bridge the gap between business and engineering teams by defining product requirements, prioritizing the backlog, and ensuring technical feasibility and making sure the product delivers value.
This position reports to the Senior Engineering Manager and is part of the Software Department, team located in Bangalore and will be an on-site role.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
+ Develop and maintain the product backlog, ensuring it is well-organized, prioritized, and up to date. Write clear and detailed user stories with acceptance criteria to guide the Scrum team.
+ Gather requirements from stakeholders, participate in backlog refinement (grooming) session, Sprint planning and sprint review meetings and team demos and track the progress. Provide clarification and additional details to ensure that the backlog items are ready for development.
+ Work closely with the Product Manager to align the product backlog with the overall product strategy and goals. Communicate the product vision and roadmap to the development team to ensure alignment and understanding.
+ Gather and incorporate feedback from users and customers into the product backlog for continuous improvement. Advocate for the end-users by ensuring that the product delivers value and meets user needs.
+ Represent the target customer to the team, and answer questions regarding customer goals. In collaboration with Product Manager and author User Needs Document
+ Conduct/Support Internal customer evaluation to gain customer insight and test value of features and/or product.
+ Support feature acceptance through formative evaluation of features on the runway. Collect and analyse customer VOC relevant to product under development. Define the validation strategy and contribute to and approve the validation plan.
The essential requirements of the job include:
+ Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
+ 12+ years of experience in understanding of the software development best practices and scrum principles
+ Strong problem-solving and analytical skills: ability to dissect problems and projects into manageable tasks. Learnability of customer workflows and technologies that support the products
+ Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to direct and motivate the product development team of an organization.
+ Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly explain complex technical topics to development teams.Ability to resolve the grey space/ambiguity. Basic knowledge of work management tools (JIRA) for the purpose of creating user stories and managing team backlog.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
+ Proven ability to make decisions, positively influence others, and work well in a fast-moving environment.
+ Interpersonal Skill: Team player who has a proven track record of working effectively in a cross-functional, matrix environment and with user groups.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to interact well with people at all levels within an organization.
+ Ability to learn new software and Experience in Agile and Scrum principles and ISTQB foundation certification or equivalent.
+ Exceptional attention to detail, Strong organizational, time management and prioritization skills, Comfortable with ambiguity

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly capable Technical Product Owner (TPO) to lead and drive product vision, roadmap alignment, and delivery execution for modernization initiatives. This role is pivotal in transforming legacy C++ systems into scalable, cloud-native solutions, while enhancing product compliance, configurability, and user experience. The ideal candidate possesses deep domain knowledge in commercial and B2B lending and experience working with loan origination and servicing systems, compliance-driven platforms, and modernization projects.
Responsibilities:
- Own, refine, and evolve the product backlog for the LaserPro modernization program, ensuring alignment with strategic business outcomes, compliance requirements, and technical readiness.
- Translate lending workflows, business requirements, and customer problems into clear epics, user stories, process flows, and acceptance criteria for engineering teams.
- Perform Scrum Master duties for the multi-shore teams, including facilitating ceremonies, removing blockers, and driving continuous improvement.
- Act as a Business Analyst when needed — eliciting requirements, mapping workflows, and validating solutions with business and technical stakeholders.
- Partner with business leaders, engineering leads, legal/compliance SMEs, QA, and UX/design to prioritize features and resolve dependencies.
- Lead modernization initiatives such as:
- Migration from C++ to .NET Core or Java
- Document storage transformation (Azure Files to Atlas DB)
- Agent orchestrator redesign and GitHub migration
- ETL pipelines for secure zone data segregation
- Prioritize features based on customer value, technical complexity, compliance needs, and time-to-market.
- Champion Agile best practices and continuously optimize workflows across distributed teams.
- Support integration efforts with our Client’s products, third-party systems and solutions.
- Ensure deliverables meet high standards of quality, scalability, security, and compliance, particularly during critical migration milestones.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Finance, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience as a Product Owner or Technical Product Manager, ideally in fintech or B2B commercial lending.
- Proven experience delivering modernization or migration efforts (e.g., monolith to microservices, cloud-native transitions).
- Experience working with engineering teams in technologies such as: .NET Core, C++, Java, Angular, Azure, Kubernetes, and GitHub Actions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Solid understanding of commercial lending products including term loans, syndicated loans, and asset-based lending.
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and documentation compliance in lending.
