Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Welding Production Engineer to oversee and manage all welding operations within the production process. The ideal candidate will have expertise in welding techniques, metallurgical properties, and production planning to ensure high-quality outputs while meeting project deadlines and cost targets. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and adherence to safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, coordinate, and supervise all welding production activities to meet daily/weekly targets.
Review engineering drawings, specifications, and welding procedures to ensure compliance with design and quality requirements.
Develop and implement Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and ensure adherence to approved standards.
Select appropriate welding techniques, materials, and consumables for different projects.
Monitor production processes, identify bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions to improve efficiency.
Conduct inspection and testing of welded joints to ensure compliance with international standards (ASME, AWS, ISO).
Train, guide, and supervise welders to maintain consistent quality and productivity.
Collaborate with the Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) team to ensure defect-free production.
Maintain accurate production records, welding logs, and reports.
Enforce safety regulations and promote a safe working environment in welding operations.
Essential Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy, or a related field.
3–5 years of experience in welding production or fabrication engineering.
Certification in Welding Inspection (AWS CWI, CSWIP is highly desirable.
Knowledge of various welding processes such as SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, FCAW, and SAW.
Skills Required:
Strong technical knowledge of welding metallurgy and manufacturing processes.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, WPS, and PQR.
Proficiency in using welding equipment, measuring instruments, and inspection tools.
Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and team management skills.
Strong understanding of quality standards (ASME, AWS, ISO 3834).
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and production optimization techniques is an advantage.
Good communication skills to coordinate with cross-functional teams.
