The Role
The Project Engineering Manager oversees engineering activities of the project, (or on a particular work package of the project in case of Large & Complex project) considering the quality/Cost/ time delivery criteria.
He plans overall design activities, manages Project design budget, defines the design quality plan, implements design change process, supervises and coordinates all engineering tasks required to execute the project, whether in house or by suppliers/subcontractors, and ensures technical coordination of the Grid Solutions project. He warrants that optimized technical solutions (cost effective solution, ease of installation and operation of the systems) in line with Customer expectations are implemented by project engineering team and involved Partners, and that documentation is delivered as per project general time schedule.
Project Engineering Manager is accountable of the proper performance of design in matter of time spent, deadlines, and quality. His field of intervention is linked to project strategy defined by Project Manager. In case of multi-unit project, he will be focusing on overall Technical Coordination, and according to global load, may be assisted by deputy PEM to follow Solutions team package.
A PEM has the capacity to perform technical coordination of projects which are classified "full set" according to PMH, within an (inter)national environment with many complex internal and suppliers interfaces
With an important customer in terms of secured and potential contracts or target market.
That constitutes a major financial, technical and or commercial risk & opportunities
he impact of the project will have a significant effect on the Business unit
**Job Description**
**Project management**
Scope of work & time schedule
+ Responsible for issuing consolidation of provisional drawing list of the project or of his/her work package, integrating submission dates
+ Manage global time schedule of concerned engineering activities, check coherency of links between engineering activities and other project functions activities (procurement, construction, commissioning) and organize follow up of critical activities of the project or of his/her work package.
Time delivery mastering
+ Plan and manage delivery time of technical interfaces with his/her work package, put in place exchange interface sheets with partners, customer and third-party contractors
+ Ensure on-time delivery of design to stakeholders with suitable quality including Partner documents
+ anticipate and mitigate delivery issues of concerned activities
+ Manage time schedule for his/her work package engineering activities in close collaboration with the planner
+ He/she is responsible of relevant co-engineering sessions with other disciplines, main partners or key suppliers if & when appropriate and of work package design reviews
+ For large & complex project support PED and Project I&I manager in the engineering change management

**Interface Management**
+ Participate and contribute to the project multidisciplinary design reviews according to the EMH procedures and per the project strategy

+ Prepare design strategy with Engineering management
+ Implement design strategy

**Customer relationship**
+ Analyse customer technical requirements, prepare and or consolidate clause by clause analysis and ensure compliance to Customer requirements through Technical queries, identify, track, manage potential exception.
+ Represents customer interests in the design decisions at PM request
+ Manage customer comments
+ Instruct customer technical request or comments
+ Request/attend Customer technical meetings when needed/upon request
+ Coordinate with partners regarding customer technical comments on their scope
+ Validate design throughout customer acceptance
**Document & configuration management**
+ Manage & track evolution of input data
+ Submit documents to customer & review submission status (for information/approval)
+ Validate and check consistency of engineering documents before final release to customer
+ Coordinate Tracking of customer comments and answers, along with document
+ Ensure that Management of return status of project documentation internal or external (approved, comments, resubmit, rejected) is performed for his/her work package
+ Manage evolution of customer requirements & associated impacts
+ Ensures conformance of material with specification & documentation
+ Tracks & manage identified or potential deviations
**Design expediting**
+ Prepare or review technical specifications and supplier's documents to enable procurement of materials and plant detailed design
+ Check effectiveness of design against delivery of contract requirements within project budget and look for global cost optimization in all design phase and mainly during basic design
+ Get or give support to ensure compliance to technical "state of the art" and applicable standards & regulations
+ Approve internal, external own discipline documents before transmittal
+ Prepare engineering subcontracting files (Scope, Deliverables, Inputs, Schedule)
+ Support to design subcontract preparation
+ Provide technical assistance upon request
+ Support OMM execution
**Process & Tools**
+ Deploy Engineering tools associated to his/her work package (CAD, PDM/DMS,) as per strategy
+ Integrate EHS requirements based on project Strategy, and deploy HAZID (Hazard identification) sessions at different project phases
+ Implement KPIs defined on engineering process and provide support to elaborate project reporting
+ Define with Engineering management (or PED if applicable) the Project Design review plan
+ Conduct design reviews following Engineering management instruction
+ Apply Design subcontracting process
+ When applicable measure waste linked to internal design reworks made necessary for Grid Solution liability that could not claim to partners or suppliers or Customer
**Interface with Procurement, Supplier/Partner management**
+ In line with general time schedule, participate to project equipment and materials procurement cycle
+ Support Sourcing and Procurement in the definition of the Supplier's list according to the project strategy
+ Organize and follow transmission of required Supply Requests on time ; coordinate any required updates
+ Coordinate with relevant people the review of technical offers from suppliers
+ Approve the technical evaluation of offers from suppliers
+ Support Procurement during commercial negotiation for POs issuance and during post order stage
+ Manage technical interface with sub suppliers & partners, prepare input data , check consistency
+ Convene technical coordination meetings with partners or key suppliers if & when appropriate
+ Ensure the technical follow up (review, comment, approval) of the supplier's documentations
+ Support Procurement in the equipment ITP review and approval
+ Support Procurement in the review of FAT procedure and participate to FAT, as per project FAT plan. and request resources function of project strategy
**Interface with construction**
+ Involve Construction Team on Design review to Perform constructability analysis
+ Support site organization during site preparation and throughout construction and commissioning stage, when required
+ Organize input data acquisition for O&MM & As built
**Return of Experience & Knowledge Capitalisation**
+ Organize Eng project teams ROE according to unit process
+ Provide data & inputs for project RoE
+ Site/Design return of experience & perform Design Validation Review
+ Support functional knowledge capitalization for dedicated practice areas
**Quality**
+ Comply with Quality Procedures, work instructions and Processes defined at Unit, project level, and in EMH
+ Report or resolve any non-conformances and process in a timely manner

+ Mastering of involved discipline (process, tools, technical aspects)
+ Successful experience in management of multi-disciplinary teams with multiple interfaces and with products coming from several countries

Job Description:
With general autonomy, leads the engineering execution of large and complex FEED, EPC, EPCm, and Portfolio projects across sectors such as Oil and Gas Onshore/Offshore, Refinery, Petrochemicals, Fertilisers, and LNG. Ensures engineering deliverables meet client expectations, project requirements, and quality standards, while aligning with cost and schedule constraints. Acts as the technical authority and primary interface for engineering matters between the client and the company. Coordinates multi-disciplinary engineering teams and ensures integration across all project phases. Supports proposal development and contributes to defining project scope and execution strategies.
Key Attributes / Skills:
+ Minimum of 18 years' experience in project management.
+ Strong leadership and coordination skills across multi-disciplinary teams.
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to build strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
+ Proven track record of engineering delivery for both international and Indian clients.
+ Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality work under pressure.
+ Strong problem-solving skills and ability to resolve technical conflicts effectively.

Job Description
You will be responsible for defining project scope, objectives, and deliverables, ensuring technical feasibility, and managing all aspects of project development. This includes detailed planning, resource allocation, risk management, stakeholder communication, and budget control. Your ability to foster collaboration among diverse teams and drive projects to successful completion on time and within budget will be critical.
Key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing the entire project lifecycle for multiple engineering projects concurrently.
- Developing detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets, and managing deviations effectively.
- Identifying, assessing, and mitigating project risks and issues.
- Coordinating and managing cross-functional teams, including engineers, designers, procurement specialists, and contractors.
- Ensuring clear and consistent communication with all project stakeholders, including senior management and clients.
- Managing project scope, changes, and ensuring deliverables meet quality standards.
- Procuring and managing external vendors and contractors to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Monitoring project progress, conducting regular status meetings, and preparing comprehensive progress reports.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related field); Master's degree or MBA is a plus.
- Minimum of 8 years of proven experience in project management, with a significant portion focused on engineering projects.
- Demonstrated success in managing projects from initiation to closure, delivering on time and within budget.
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
- Excellent leadership, team management, and motivational skills.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Asana, Jira).
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience with risk management and quality assurance processes.
- PMP or equivalent certification is highly desirable.
