General Responsibilities

As a Project Financial Analyst, you will support the financial and operational success of consulting engagements within Halloran. You will partner with Delivery Leads, Project Managers, Account Managers, Service Line Leads, and Operations and Finance team members to establish and monitor budgets, forecasts, and key performance indicators (KPIs). Your work will drive data-driven decision making, improve project efficiency, and ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and aligned with client expectations.

Characteristic Duties

  • Project Management Operations & Delivery Support
  • Make sure project guidance and operating model are understood and applied by project team members
  • Bring methodology support to project stakeholders in executing project activities and cross functional communication

WSP India is currently seeking **Consultant -** **Project Finance Specialist** for our GCC Australia Mining - Central Sustaining Capital. This position will be a support to the project managers & responsible for project Finance.

+ Deliver high-quality capital analysis services for GCC AU mining infrastructure projects by leveraging financial analysis tools to produce value‑added reports for stakeholders.
+ Build relationships with Project managers through close engagement and consultation
+ Understand and where required document client-specific invoicing and project finance requirements.
+ Provide comprehensive project financial analysis and prepare administrative support documentation to ensure timely and cost‑effective project delivery.
+ Track, analyze, and reconcile actuals, forecasts, and committed costs for mining projects.
+ Initiate and oversee financial transaction like client invoicing, purchase requisitions (PRs) and monitor purchase orders (POs) through their complete lifecycle.
+ Ensure compliance with established project management frameworks and organizational financial policies.
+ Support both internal and external audits by maintaining complete, accurate, and compliant financial documentation and records.
+ Take ownership of accurate project finance setups, invoicing and updates, including quality control for work completed by Finance BP and GBS as required.
+ Serve as a key liaison between Project, Operations, Finance, and PMO teams to drive alignment, collaboration, and transparency.
+ Provide financial process guidance and governance expertise to project managers and workstream leads.
+ Operate and maintain project control tools (e.g., Oracle, Excel) to monitor and manage financial data effectively.
+ Oversee and manage complex project budgets across multiple workstreams, ensuring alignment with overarching financial objectives.
+ Drive enhancements to financial tracking templates and reporting processes for improved efficiency and accuracy. Ensure prompt and accurate invoice processing in line with internal departmental standards. Proactively manage multiple workstreams and collaborate with cross‑functional teams, ensuring financial guidance, compliance, and acting as the primary contact for all finance‑related project queries.
+ Contribute to monthly and quarterly financial reporting, including variance analysis, accruals, and identification of financial risks.
+ Partner with project and finance teams to deliver accurate, compliant, and timely financial operations.
**Key Competencies/Skills**
+ Experience with MS office softwares is a must.
**Mandatory Skills**
+ Master's or bachelor's degree in finance or business administration.
+ 6-12 years' experience in project controlling, preferably within infrastructure or industrial EPC projects (O&G, Power, Mining, etc.).
+ Proficient in using financial tools and ERP systems related to finance.
+ Familiarity with regulatory compliance requirements and International Financial Reporting Standards.
+ Excellent organizational and reporting abilities.
+ Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and effective interpersonal skills.
**Desired Skills**
+ 6-12 years Valuable experience in project finance is considered as asset
+ Must be time flexible and able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
+ Attention to detail is critical
+ Familiarity with other analytics tools such as Power Point, Excel, Power BI & equivalent dashboards.
+ Previous experience in an EPCM environment in the O & G, Power, Chemical process, Mat. Handling/Mining processing industry would be an asset.

**Qualifications**
+ Must have minimum 6-12 years of experience post-graduation, preferably relating to a large-scale professional services work environment.

Qualifications:

To succeed in this position, you must have:

  • MBA or equivalent in Finance /CFA/CA

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to lead Capex Planning, Controls, and Commercial Oversight for our large-scale projects. The role demands strong financial acumen, cross-functional coordination, and hands-on experience in managing petrochemical or large industrial projects . The incumbent will play a critical role in ensuring financial discipline, transparent reporting, and effective risk/commercial management across the project lifecycle.


Key Responsibilities

1. Capex Planning & Control

  • Prepare and monitor project budgets vs. approved Capex.
  • Track commitments, payments, and forecasted cash flows.
  • Ensure alignment with financing plans and availability of funds.
  • Monitor deviations and provide early alerts to management.

2. Commercial & Contract Support

  • Partner with procurement/contract teams to evaluate commercial/financial terms.
  • Validate cost impacts of scope changes, variations, and claims.
  • Support negotiations with contractors/suppliers with financial impact analysis.
  • Ensure contracts safeguard owner’s interests (payment terms, LDs, escalation clauses, etc.).

3. Cost Visibility & Reporting
