:The opportunity:
The Project Manager - Materials at INOPC will be a member of PGSV – CH 2657 team and will contribute towards the effective functioning of Service operations team by working together with Project managers and mange the activities related to materials to be procured for the project. on a wide range of international GIS & GCB projects.
How you’ll make an impact:
You will plan and manage production and order processes for our logistics centre and associated factories.
You will proactively monitor material and information flows, maintain and oversee master data and system parameters.
You will coordinate feasibility and availability analyses for customer quotations.
You will serve as a task force member for urgent troubleshooting in material management.
You will manage material compliance activities from suppliers through to the chamber of commerce, lead daily management meetings and ensure follow-up on resulting tasks.
You will contribute to the development of our internal Power Platform (SEPP) for material management and support continuous improvement initiatives.
You will be responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background:
You hold a degree in BTech (EEE, Mech), 5 years' experience in factory setup.
Proven experience in operations, supply chain management, or logistics, familiarity with GCB or GIS products is an advantage.
Hands on experiences material handling, co-ordination with other functions such as project Management, SCM, Logistics etc.
Hands-on experience with ERP systems, ideally SAP (modules MM, MRP, PP), including material master data, planning lists, production orders, and purchase requisitions.
A curious, reliable team player with the potential to grow into more advanced roles over time.
Proficient in English, with strong communication skills especially when interacting with non-native English speakers.

The Hitachi Energy Indian Operations Center (INOPC) is a competence center with around 1500 skilled engineers who focus on tendering, engineering, planning, procurement, functional system testing, installation supervision and commissioning. However, over the last decade, it has evolved to become the largest engineering hub. The India Operations Centre is a key aspect of the Power Grids business Power Up transformation program. The Hitachi Energy Indian Operations Center team at Chennai supports Hitachi Energy’s units in more than 40 countries across a wide portfolio of all the four business units in Power Grid business. To date, the team has executed engineering and commissioning for projects in more than 80 countries.
Mission Statement:
Project Manager Engineering and / or Construction & Commissioning focuses on coordination of all engineering activities in assignment project, ensuring that activities related to all engineering disciplines within the project are efficiently and cost- effectively executed, in accordance with the contract specifications, quality standards and safety & integrity requirements. The activities associated with project manager engineering and / or Construction & Commissioning include discipline engineering and design; planning, e.g., the production of engineering and / or Construction & Commissioning budgets, schedules and risk assessments; and the provision and coordination of resources (personnel and equipment) to execute the work.
Your Responsibilities:
Driving the technical solution in coordination with other departments (i.e., System Engineering, Primary/Mechanical Engineering, Secondary/Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering) and support Tender Manager/ Project Manager for assigned Project/Tender.
Evaluating risks and opportunities, strategizes mitigation of engineering disciplines.
Interacting with customers, contractors, suppliers. Attends project/Tender meetings and presents all technical aspects of project/Tender assignments.
Collaborating and networking with engineering colleagues within the organization. Shares best practiceacross different projects and disciplines
Evaluating the overall cost of the engineering disciplines and getting approved from Business Unit Head
Utilizing standard processes, tools, and techniques. Ensuring that engineering activities are compiled with required safety regulations and contractual requirements.
Your Background:
B.E./B. Tech/M. Tech with minimum 8-10 Years of Experience in any Engineering Discipline (i.e., SystemsEngineering, Primary & Secondary Engineering).
Experience with Medium to High Voltage Projects in Power System – Substations Domain
Knowledge of Power Systems equipment and their purpose. Example, Power Transformers, Capacitors, Reactors, Instrument Transformer and measuring equipment, Circuit Breakers, Disconnectors and Surge Arrestors
Knowledge on International standards (i.e., IEEE/IEC/GIGRE)

• Implement planning, review, control, startup execution and closeout processes and engage in process improvement activities.

• Guarantee data overtime consistency and adapt report content to practices of accelerating project maturity.

• Support briefing and tool development with senior management. Handle status reports and project management reviews
• Proficient with Primavera project planning software, MS project and other similar planning tools.

• Coordinating the projects and their interdependencies, Excellent interpersonal skills are essential, Manage risk and issue. Lead review with PMO partner
• Ability to shoulder responsibility, achieve team goals and Devising strategies to overcome roadblocks in process to meet PMO Vision and strategy
• Must be able to balance multiple projects or varying scope and magnitude
• Proficient in Primavera P6, MS Project and Microsoft Office Tools
