Summary of the Role:-
- Responsible for managing procurement function of CAPEX Expansion Projects /Facility Expansion at the optimal value (lowest optimal cost along with timely delivery, competitive advantage). Once the project is over resource would need to work at plant site or will take up a new project.
- Follow established policies, procedures, and guidelines to manage and optimize procurement activities and processes
- Responsible to guide coach and ensure procurement specialist and sourcing managers align the RPF package to Lubrizol processes, manage timeliness and responsiveness from Vendors by guiding the sourcing specialist.
- Responsible for managing supplier relationship for all Vendors related to the project and ensuring cost, quality and delivery targets are adhered
Responsibilities / Accountabilities: -
- Manage and lead activities of CAPEX Spend: and ensure process and timeline adherence from RPF to Execution stage. Procure to Pay cycle. Ensure Project costs targets are met and adhered to.
- Reviewing, vendor management process to ensure analysis of cost comparison and delivery adherence are being evaluated and analysed for procurement proposals for management approvals and reviews for materials and services to be purchased.
- To manage the Procurement function within SAP - along the Corporate Sourcing guidelines.
- Explore Cost saving technique/Identify alternate vendors sourcing to mitigate risk & reduce cost.
- Contractor /Service provider sourcing: Emphasis and adherence on Safety Criteria/Ethics compliance /Due Diligence.
- Ensure legal terms and conditions adherence by vendors/contractors/service providers and guide the procurement team members.
- Strong Focus on to meet laid down Procurement KPI’s and Site KPI’s.
- Manage ongoing relationship with supplier, vendor, contractors to ensure satisfactory results.
- Train and educate others/users about purchasing Process / Build strong internal Customer relationships.
- Work closely with legal department and execute service agreements and contracts
- Multiple project team’s stakeholder management and collaboration with engineering function.
- Integral part of CAPEX Project Team to ensure that the project meets the budget and schedule timelines.
- Collaborate with the global category teams and purchasing team for alignment of process category strategy and STRAP initiatives as appropriate.
Requirements (education, experience, competencies and specific job requirements):
Education / Certification:
- Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering
- Added qualification will be an advantage
Experience and Skills:
- Minimum 15 to 16 years of Core CAPEX PROJECT procurement experience. (MNC Experience preferred).
- Knowledge of legal Aspects of Purchasing.
- Exposure of End to End: Procure to Pay.
- Sound Technical Knowledge on Equipment, supplies and services.
- Strong Analytical and Organizational Skills.
- Proficient with SAP.
- Fluent in English with Strong Written and Verbal Communication Skills.
- Mulitple stakeholder Management.

- The Project Procurement Manager works cross-functionally with PSQ (SBU) and Project Management, Order management, Category managers, PSQ, Production Inventory Controls, IPM and Operations at each stage of the projects - from quotation to award the orders through the manufacture to the delivery to customer
- The Project Procurement Manager is accountable to book supplier s Capacity at quotation stage, to meet net material inflation and Project Budget Targets by working with Category, Supplier Development and Logistics Teams and Suppliers identified on the AVL to create and realize Margin Uplift Opportunities
- Project Procurement supports improvement of the conversion rate from Quote to Sale and to drive continuity of the Supply Chain, (Requested Date Service Level), and Margin Uplift
In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
- Set and reinforce standards for a safe work environment.
- Actively participate to bid review meetings, cross-functional kick off managed by Project Managers and follow up of Customer Projects.
- Engage and Track customer projects, as managed by Project Management Organization, during pursuit phase:
- identify major key component
- determine desired process
- apply supply chain tools and processes to enhance leverage
- support customer project objectives and timeline
- Partner with Project Managers to ensure comprehensive plans and secure on time delivery of project orders, by following the standard Project Procurement Process and Templates.
- Process the Change Order Management with the Project Managers, by identifying with the suppliers the cost of the changes and the impact on the lead time. Deploy deviations with vendors only after getting the customer approval regarding cost and lead time.
- Working with PIC, Category Teams and Key suppliers to achieve margin uplift during pursuit phase and recording/reporting the actual in ProTrack during execution phase.
- Work with the Logistics Teams to tension the Logistics Cost on the customer delivery side (from Emerson Site to Customer site).
- Making sure the supplier capacity meets the expectation the price meet the budget during bidding phase.
- Making sure the on-time delivery for key components from key suppliers (Casting, Actuators, etc.)
