**Job Summary**:
- Performs shop inspections to determine acceptance and/or rejection of work performed in a variety of disciplines in compliance with applicable Codes, Standards and/or specifications. Monitors schedules may provide technical input. Actively promotes effective implementation of Company policies and standards in support of projects. May provide oversight of 3rd party/agency quality professionals on assigned inspections.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- To ensure suppliers meet project requirements through approved quality control programs / plan and procedures.
- Reviews & approve the inspection documentation packages such as ITP, NDE procedures, WPS / PQR / WPQ, work test procedures like hydro test, positive material identification, vacuum test, cryo test, painting procedure, packing procedures, Inspection reports etc. Contacts the respective Requisitioning Engineer (RE) to determine unique technical requirements or concerns prior to initiating inspection.
- Coordinates travel schedule in support of project schedules and suppliers’ fabrication/testing schedules, to maximize inspection efficiencies.
- Responsible for Co-ordination with vendor & client for inspection arrangements. Review of stage wise reports and final inspection reports. Monitoring Inspection stages and forecasting Inspection requirements. Maintaining proper log of inspection activities & clearances for smooth project execution. Ensure the project inspections are completed to the client’s expectations and Black &Veatch standards.
- Participates in the project meetings for inspection updates and Pre-inspection meetings with vendor for briefing the project requirements to vendors.
- Conducts inspections in accordance with project requirements, codes and standards, drawings etc for inspection packages and Requisitioning Engineer (RE) requests. Inspections may involve complex materials (e.g.: P11, P22, P91, other alloys) & equipment (e.g.: Boiler & Condensate Pumps, HP Valves, Actuated Control Valves, pre-fabricated piping spools, Automatic Tube cleaning system, heat exchangers, vessels etc.). These inspections could include: pre-fabrication meetings, in-process inspections, witnessing factory acceptance tests, Q.C. documentation reviews, final inspections and/or pre-shipment inspections. Inspections may include welding inspections, dimensional examinations, equipment alignment inspections, hydrotest, performance test, coating examinations and Non-Destructive testing or oversight of testing by suppliers or other third parties.
