Burns & McDonnell India has an exciting opportunity for Rail Engineer interested in growing their careers in an organization listed among top 100 Large-size Great Places to Work in India. The company is in the process of establishing the Transportation Global Practice in Mumbai office mainly to serve the transportation market in North America. This group will eventually provide engineering services for projects which include but not limited to roadways, highways, bridges, railroad, and traffic signaling systems.
We are looking for an experienced Rail Engineer to join our Transportation team in Mumbai office to support rail design activities on projects mainly in North America. The successful candidate will report to a Senior Engineer and will assist in building the rail design team to support future transportation projects across the global practice.
Key Responsibilities:
o Experience and understanding of rail industrial development design, surface grading,
Geometric design, Corridor modelling, underground services, utilities, drains etc.
o Preparation of Drawings for Rail Plan and profile, Typical section, Cross sections, Layout
setting and General arrangement drawings.
o Perform Regression analysis.
o Experience in rail and roadway bridges/structures preferred but not required.
o Interference Check with other disciplines and resolution of Inter Disciplinary Clashes.
o Willing to advance in career by taking increased engineering design responsibilities by
closely working with discipline lead engineer.
o A committed team player able to work on their own initiative.
o Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
o Good Communication skills (verbal & written) and ability to self-check and produce
accurate work.

**Job Description**
+ Lead and manage the technical and commercial delivery of Rail Electric Track Equipment- ETE (Third Rail) projects, with a primary focus on rail Switch & Crossing (S&C) Renewal Works.
+ Design of Positive Feeders and Negative Returns, including traction substation cabling, conductor rail layouts, negative bonding, hook switches, track isolating switches, Cable Routes and Cable Management Sleeper (CMS) systems in line with client specifications.
+ Prepare key elements of design deliverables including technical reports, electrical calculations and CAD drawings in industry standard software. Act as Lead Engineer or Contractor's Responsible Engineer (CRE), checker ensuring compliance with client requirements, industry standards and safety regulations. Provide technical and commercial oversight, including design planning, risk management and quality assurance
+ Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated and constructible design solutions. Ensure designs comply with all relevant regulations, including CDM and Health & Safety legislation. Familiarity with the full project lifecycle - from feasibility and concept design through to detailed design and construction support

+ Experienced in the use of international, UK Network Rail, and Railway Group Standards as well as the relevant British Standards and Eurocodes.
**Qualifications**
+ Master of Engineering degree (or equivalent education) in an appropriate engineering discipline from an accredited college or university.
+ Chartered Engineer (or actively working towards chartership) with a recognised institution (e.g. IET) or Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent in the relevant field from any global organization
+ 5 - 10+ years of experience in railway Electrification & Power design and delivery
+ Experience in leading projects as a checker, CRE or Lead Engineer
+ Deep knowledge of Rail ETE Third rail design, power system analysis, protection setting calculations
+ Strong understanding of CDM Regulations, design safety principles and risk assessment
+ Proficient in use of MicroStation, AutoCAD
+ Strong technical writing, Excellent communication, coordination and stakeholder engagement skills
+ A collaborative and proactive mindset with the ability to lead, mentor and influence others

As a Civil Engineer, you will leverage your land development design experience to work directly with our Real Estate, Design and Construction teams in your region. You will play a pivotal role in delivering data center campus sites and serve as the engineering representative for the Design Engineering team, ensuring projects meet strict quality and performance standards.

Key job responsibilities
- Communicate conceptual designs and create/maintain project documentation before, during, and after construction.
- Develop and maintain design standards, design prototypes, and template specifications related to site design.
- Coordinate with Due Diligence teams to determine site selection criteria and review Due Diligence reports.
- Create, review, and release design RFPs.
- Manage our external civil design consultants through the design and construction process.
- Review designs for grading, storm water, utilities, and pavement.
- Coordinate with internal and external Architecture, Structure and MEP design engineers.
- Effectively communicate design standards to internal and external project partners.
- Manage multiple fast paced projects simultaneously.
- Think outside of the box to find innovative solutions prior to and during the construction process to reduce costs without negative impacts on quality or reliability.
- Travel for site assessments, internal design meetings, construction review, and interfacing with authorities having jurisdiction. Anticipated travel is approximately 25%.
A day in the life
Given Amazon's global presence, 25% travel is required. This includes international travel to inspect and audit current and future data center sites. Basic Qualifications
- Accredited Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
