Description:

Release Manager Role and Responsibilities

1. Excellent verbal and written English. Advanced written and verbal communication skills are essential.

2. Evidence of at least 5 end-to-end SAP Deployments including the LEAD role in every Technical Cutover

3. Specific Core Competence within SAP – (SME Module)

4. Other technical competence levels within SAP – (additional SME modules to support application)

5. 6-8 years of previous release and/or project/portfolio management experience, (Solid understanding of project management methodology)

6. 8-10 years of experience in SAP / Non SAP Project systems operations environment in systems analysis or development

7. Release Manager needs to interface and communicate with PMO and Key stakeholders/Teams involved in Release Activities and are responsible to execute, Develop and Manages Release activities.

8. Release Manager must be confident enough to manage up and provide reporting as well as meeting updates to the Senior Team / Release Management

9. Measure and monitor progress to ensure application releases are delivered on time and within Scheduled Plan across all landscapes and that they meet or exceed expectations

10. Coordinate release content and effort based on the Incidence / service request backlog, pending service requests, third party applications, or operating system updates

11. Communicate all key project plans, commitments, and changes including requirements, QA plans, schedule, and scope changes

12. Forward Plan the release windows and cycles across a portfolio

13. Communicate release details and schedules to the Business as required

14. Manage relationships and coordinate work between different teams at different locations

15. Manage risks and resolves issues that affect release scope, schedule and quality

16. Conduct Release Readiness reviews, Milestone Reviews, and Business Go/No-Go reviews

17. Produce Deployment, Run Books and Implementation Plans

18. Weekly Release Reporting

19. Forward Plan the release windows and cycles across a portfolio

20. Communicate release details and schedules to the Business as required

21. Negotiate, plan and manage all release activities

22. Work with release engineers to understand impacts of branches and code merges

23. Maintains the release schedule for all core services and ensure alignment across key partners and vendors.

24. Continually work towards making improvements in the release process

25. Lead and co-ordinate the Go-Live activities including the execution of the deployment Plans and checklists.

26. Participate in CAB meetings to discuss release scope and/or roadblocks

27. Maintains a release repository and manages key information such as build and release procedures, dependencies, and notification lists

28. Researches new software development and configuration management methodologies and technologies and analyzes their application to current configuration management needs

29. Advanced knowledge of software development lifecycle

30. Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functional work teams toward task completion

31. Demonstrated effective leadership and analytical skills

REQUIREMENTS:

• This role is responsible for Configuration Management, Build, Deploy and Release Management in Middleware technologies
• Should have hands-on experience in setting up in Jboss Application Servers
• Should have working experience in writing deployment scripts using shell script or Python and YAML added value
• Good to have Knowledge on containerization technology and tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Should have working experience in continuous integration using Git/SVN/GitHub, Jenkins, Maven ,Artifactory, SonarQube.

Qualification, Experience and Skills

Essential:

• SME in Continuous Integration/Delivery practices
• Administration of source code management systems and branching strategies
• Experience of building and deploying large- scale Java or .Net applications
• Hands on experience with cloud infrastructure (Azure IaaS and PaaS)
• Excellent understanding of change control and deployment practices
• Expert knowledge in more than one of the following:
• Build automation tools (Gradle & Maven)
• Jenkins
• GIT
• Artifactory - JFrog
• Serena
• Knowledge of Windows (server) or Linux operating systems
• Knowledge of Jboss is preferred
• Exposure to Groovy, Powershell and bash programming/scripting languages
• Security best practices
• Software development and design best practice
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Team player with ability to mentor less experienced members of the team

Desirable:

• Handson experience in ServiceNow, Jira and Confluence
• Knowledge of automated testing best practices
• Experience of automating environment configuration management.
• Knowledge of Release management best practises.
• Having a basic understanding or exposure to AI tools would be a plus.

What you will do :

• Partner with Release Leads for Production Release planning, preparation, deployment and status reporting.

• Support to maintain a comprehensive release calendar, aligning release schedules with Rolling wave plan and Business priorities .

• Create and publish release playbooks/rollback procedures to standardize release processes and detailed validation .

• Support planning of release activities to support release pipeline, avoid release conflicts and maintain schedule to align with Product team, Business partners, and vendors.

• Support to conduct Release Readiness reviews, Milestone Reviews, and Business Go/No-Go reviews to manage risks and resolve issues that can impact deployment schedule/plan.

• Support the Go-Live activities, including the execution of the deployment plans/checklists and providing the deployment status to Product and Business partners.

• Collaborate with Release Leads for Incident/Defect Management.

• Support the ECM-CHG process and Digital Product Release forms to ensure all necessary documentation and approvals are in place to meet the TJX standard process for Security, Compliance, and Regulatory guidelines.

• Participate in MIMS call for support of Production issues/lNCs to maintain stores operational stability .

• Measure release cadence using analytics, lessons learned, and continuous improvement initiatives to optimize the release efficiencies.

Must Have:

• Experience as a Release Analyst or Senior Project Analyst with agile teams using scrum/SAFe .

• Proactive and 'can do' attitude to support the releases .

• Strong oral (presentation+ conversational communication) and written skills to present release update within Business and IT leadership

• Experience working with Solution Delivery teams and having a good understanding of technologies to understand issues and come up with risk mitigation.

• Knowledge/Understanding of Stores infrastructure and Store Operations will be an asset.

• Must have the ability to work with JIRA, Confluence, and Service Now .

• Ability to work effectively in a fast paced and support extended hours if needed .
