The Role

In this role, you will work on the development of core AI models and algorithms aimed at accelerating the drug discovery process. The position focuses on advancing foundational AI techniques such as generative modeling, optimization, and reinforcement learning, applied to molecular and bio-pharmaceutical data.
The position involves working with a diverse, lively, and proactive group of nerds who are constantly raising the bar on translating the latest AI research in Healthcare and Life Sciences into tangible reusable assets for the community. What role you will play in our team
Operations Research Engineers function as internal consultants to support improved decision-making by developing models using operations research methods, such as mathematical optimization and stochastic simulation. They will work in a team environment to apply their technical skills, project management, and business domain knowledge to develop technological and analytics solutions in partnership with business units to influence and improve key business decisions.
The Operations Research Engineer is expected to work with global, cross-functional stakeholders to understand business problems (both commercially and technically), translate them into mathematical problems, and apply operations research methods to create solutions for decision support. This role will primarily work on business problems related to supply chain and commercial functions, especially for Fuels, Lubes, and Chemical products.
What you will do
- Participate in the scoping of business problems to apply operations research methods
- Work with key contacts to identify and translate data requirements which represent the system and constraints to be modeled
- Develop custom mathematical optimization and/or stochastic simulation models by applying the following: linear programming, mixed-integer programming, system dynamics simulation, and/or discrete event simulation
- Proactively drive cross-functional alignment across organizations (as needed) to validate model solution quality
- Create documentation to explain how the operations research methods are applied, and conduct reviews with senior technical professionals to ensure technical quality
- Ensure effective and efficient pace of work by managing project timelines, coordinating project team members, and providing timely updates to stakeholders

About You
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelors or Master’s degree preferred in Industrial Engineering or Applied Mathematics (or relevant field)
- Ability to translate general requirements and long-term deadlines into shorter-term work tasks, self-direct work, and monitor progress
- Solicits inputs from subject matter experts (SMEs) and engages with cross-functional teams to drive results
- Competent in developing mathematical optimization models using mathematical modeling languages such as AIMMS, GAMS, AMPL, Pyomo, Gurobipy, etc.

Drive the next wave of generative and multimodal intelligence that powers our autonomous drywall-finishing robots. As a core member of the AI Research team, you'll turn cutting-edge vision-language and diffusion advances into robust, real-time systems that see, reason, and act on dynamic construction sites.
Key Responsibilities
* Research & innovate diffusion-based generative models for photorealistic wall-surface simulation, defect synthesis, and domain adaptation.
* Architect and train Vision-Language Models (VLMs) and Vision-Language Alignment (VLA) objectives that connect textual work orders, CAD plans, and sensor data to pixel-level understanding.
* Lead development of auto-annotation pipelines (active learning, self-training, synthetic data) that scale to millions of frames and point-clouds with minimal human effort.
* Optimize and compress models (INT8, LoRA, distillation) for deployment on Jetson-class edge devices under ROS 2.
* Own the full lifecycle—problem definition, literature review, prototyping, offline/online evaluation, and production hand-off to perception & controls teams.
* Publish internal tech reports and external conference papers; mentor interns and junior engineers.
Qualifications & Skills
* 3+ years in deep-learning R&D or Ph.D./M.S. in CS, EE, Robotics or related field with strong publication record.
* Demonstrated expertise in diffusion models (DDPM, LDM, ControlNet) and multimodal transformers / VLMs (CLIP, BLIP-2, LLaVA, Flamingo).
* Proven success building large-scale data-centric AI workflows—active learning, pseudo-labeling, weak supervision.
* Advanced proficiency in Python, PyTorch (or JAX), experiment tracking, and scalable training (PyTorch Lightning, DeepSpeed, Ray).
* Familiarity with edge-AI runtimes (TensorRT, ONNX Runtime), and CUDA / C++ performance tuning.
* Strong mathematical foundation (probability, information theory, optimization) and ability to translate theory into production code.
* Bonus: experience with synthetic data generation in Isaac Sim, or robotics perception stacks (ROS2, Nav2, MoveIt 2, Open3D).

•Excellent working knowledge of Adobe design tools-Photoshop, XD, Dreamweaver and adobe Illustrator
•Qualtrics experience. Someone well-versed in Qualtrics functionality building surveys, reporting, etc. Can build independently if given an assignment. We have a lot of surveys in another tool that needs to be rebuilt in Qualtrics.
