The Research Fellows program exposes bright minds in India to world-class research and the state-of-the-art technology. The program prepares students for careers in research, engineering, as well as entrepreneurship. MSR India has some of the best researchers pushing the frontiers of computer science and technology. 

Application Procedure

You must also fill out the RF Interest Form at this link:  . This form allows us to gather your interests so that we can match your application to appropriate projects within MSR. Once you have finished the application process you should see the option to add recommenders in the Action Center. They will then be sent an automated email with a link to upload their recommendation letters.

Qualifications

Candidates should have completed their Bachelor's (BE/BTech/BS) or Master's degree (ME/MTech/MS) in Computer Science (or related areas). We evaluate candidates on a combination of factors including academic performance, raw smarts, development skills, and passion for research and software development. 

Responsibilities

RFs spend 1 to 2 years at MSR India. Different projects require a different combination of skills. Current and past RFs have worked on: solving deep theoretical problems, pushing the boundaries of AI, designing new programming languages, designing and implementing security protocols at scale, field work in rural India, increasing the inclusivity of large language models, research on fairness and ethics in AI, and designing and building large-scale software systems and networks. Regardless, they all consistently aim to create academic, industry, and societal impact.

We are seeking a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join School of Biomedical Sciences, Faculty of Health.

The Translational Adipokine research group at the Centre for Genomics and Personalised Health, QUT is seeking to appoint a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to contribute to a NHMRC-funded project. This project aims to determine the potential of a novel targeted therapeutic against a key driver of metabolic and lineage plasticity in treatment resistant prostate cancer. The role involves therapeutic testing in cutting-edge 3D models in vitro and in vivo, and their phenotype characterisation using imaging and omics-based molecular techniques to ultimately support advanced preclinical therapeutic development.

What you need to succeed

Essential

  1. Successful completion of a PhD in any of the following areas: cancer biology, biomedical science, bioengineering or a closely related discipline.
  2. Outstanding academic track record (e.g. reputable peer-reviewed publications, conference presentations, relative to opportunity) and demonstrated ability to conduct high quality independent research.
  3. Recent wet laboratory experience in cellular and molecular biology, including designing and executing drug response assays and performing biochemical and dose calculations in human cancer cell culture models.
  4. Experience performing advanced 3D in vitro organoid assays, as applied to cancer research, and their phenotypic characterisation using advanced molecular techniques including immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescent microscopy, omics technologies (e.g. transcriptomics, metabolomics).
  5. Proven and demonstrated capabilities in animal handling, surgery and experimentation techniques, in performing therapeutic testing in mice applied to cancer research, and in maintaining a large colony of laboratory mice.
  6. Proven skills in record, colony and data management (including Microsoft suite) and in statistical analysis and graphing of experimental data (GraphPad, SPSS, R). Proficiency in basic coding (using R or similar) is highly desirable.
  7. Can demonstrate clear critical thinking abilities, excellent organisational skills and the ability to meet project timelines and deadlines.
  8. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team and to communicate across disciplines.

Desirable

  1.  Advanced proficiency in statistical programming languages such as R, R Studio, Python or similar.
  2. Demonstrated experience in handling and analysing large datasets, including working knowledge of bioinformatics analyses of transcriptomic and metabolomic data is highly desirable.
  3. Demonstrated experience or willingness to engage in student supervision and training.

We are seeking a Research Fellow/Senior Research Fellow (2 positions available) to join School of Public Health and Social Work, Faculty of Health.

We are seeking an experienced Research Fellow/Senior Research Fellow to provide a range of research activities that support AusHSI and diabetes foot disease research. The appointee will work with other AusHSI researchers and health service partners to provide research activities and support for a suite of health services research and clinical research projects (including those funded by NHMRC and MRFF grants) focused on the diabetes foot disease priority areas of (but not limited to): quantifying disease burdens, identifying key risk factors and evaluating novel treatments. There will also be the opportunity for the appointee to develop new projects and obtain competitive funding, in alignment with diabetes foot disease priority areas and the objectives and approval of the AusHSI leadership team.
