Job Description: NICU Staff Nurse (Tamil Nadu registration is mandatory)

Roles and Responsibilities

• Provide direct and individualized care to critically ill neonates within the intensive care unit.
• Monitor vital signs and adjust treatments as necessary based on patient conditions and protocols.
• Administer medications and procedures according to physician orders and neonatal protocols.
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records concerning care and condition.

Shift Timings: Rotational

• Provide direct patient care to infants in the NICU, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and managing ventilators and other life support equipment.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care plans tailored to the specific needs of each neonate.
• Perform specialized nursing procedures unique to neonatal care, such as central line insertion, umbilical catheterization, and surfactant administration.
• Educate and support parents and families, providing them with information, emotional support, and guidance on infant care.
• Collaborate closely with the neonatology team, physicians, and allied health professionals to coordinate patient care and treatment strategies.
• Maintain accurate and thorough patient records, documenting all assessments, interventions, and patient responses.

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent nursing degree.
• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Karnataka.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in pediatric nursing, with at least 1 year of direct experience in a NICU setting.
• Current BLS, PALS, and NRP certifications.
• Strong understanding of neonatal pathophysiology and advanced nursing skills.
