Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Mechanical & Robotics Design Engineer, located in Bengaluru. Role Overview


We’re looking for a hands-on Mechanical Engineer to design, prototype, and optimize the mechanical systems of our farm robots. You will work closely with embedded, AI, and control engineers to develop robust, field-ready mechanical designs that can withstand the harsh Indian agricultural environment.


Key Responsibilities


  • Design and prototype mechanical systems, chassis, suspension, and mounting assemblies for small autonomous robots.
  • Work on mechanical CAD modeling (SolidWorks/Fusion 360/Onshape) for components and assemblies.
  • Develop and test drive systems, linkages, and cutting or weeding mechanisms.

Our client, a leader in advanced robotics and automation, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to contribute to innovative product development. This role is based in our **Jaipur, Rajasthan, IN** facility, with a hybrid work arrangement allowing for flexibility. You will be responsible for the conceptualization, design, prototyping, and testing of complex mechanical systems for our next-generation robotic platforms. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in mechanical engineering principles, proficiency in CAD software, and a passion for creating cutting-edge robotic solutions.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the mechanical design of robotic systems, components, and subsystems from concept to production.
  • Develop detailed 3D CAD models, drawings, and assemblies using advanced design software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, Fusion 360).
  • Perform stress analysis, thermal analysis, and kinematic analysis using FEA and other simulation tools.
  • Select appropriate materials and manufacturing processes for mechanical components, ensuring performance and cost-effectiveness.
  • Design and specify actuators, sensors, transmissions, and structural elements for robotic applications.
  • Collaborate closely with electrical engineers, software engineers, and control system specialists to ensure seamless integration of mechanical designs.

  • Develop and execute test plans to validate mechanical performance, durability, and reliability.
  • Contribute to design reviews, providing constructive feedback and ensuring design requirements are met.

  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices in mechanical engineering and robotics.
  • Mentor junior engineers and share technical expertise within the design team.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
