Role Summary
The Diving Engineer is responsible for providing technical and engineering support to all diving and subsea operations within AMC’s offshore projects. The role ensures that diving systems, procedures, and equipment meet regulatory, client, and company standards while enabling safe and efficient subsea operations. The Diving Engineer works closely with the Diving Manager, Project Engineers, and HSE teams to ensure technical integrity, compliance, and operational readiness of all diving activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide engineering support for diving operations, including maintenance, inspection, and repair scopes.
- Prepare and review diving-related engineering documents such as procedures, method statements, and risk assessments.
- Conduct engineering analysis for diving spreads, lifting systems, and subsea tools.
- Ensure diving equipment and systems comply with IMCA, ADCI, and class requirements.
- Support diving system mobilization, demobilization, and certification processes.
- Review project drawings and identify subsea work interfaces for diving activities.
- Liaise with the Diving Supervisor and vessel teams during offshore execution to provide technical solutions.
- Monitor equipment performance, maintenance schedules, and life-support system integrity.
- Participate in HAZID, HAZOP, and risk review sessions for diving operations.
- Prepare technical reports, as-built documentation, and lessons-learned summaries.
- Support tendering and project planning teams by providing diving-related technical inputs and resource assessments.
Education & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Marine, or Offshore Engineering.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in commercial diving engineering or subsea operations.
- Knowledge of IMCA, ADCI, and DNV diving standards.
- Offshore survival and HUET certification (mandatory).
- Familiarity with diving system components — DDC, LARS, compressors, and life support systems.
- Experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar design tools.
- Certification or training in Diving System Maintenance or Diving Engineering (advantageous).

**POSITION SUMMARY**
Coordinate with other departments using telecommunications devices in order to respond to requests and resolve maintenance issues and to put rooms needing maintenance out of order. Coordinate and schedule with other departments in the event of major system shut down or major repair or improvement. Maintain purchase orders log and file purchase orders upon payment, ensuring that orders match packing slips.
Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries; complete safety training and certifications; and properly store flammable materials. Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets. Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, anticipate and address guests' service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and thank guests with genuine appreciation. Speak with others using clear and professional language; prepare and review written documents accurately and completely; answer telephones using appropriate etiquette. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others; listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees. Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards. Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 10 pounds without assistance. Read and visually verify information in a variety of formats (e.g., small print). Enter and locate work-related information using computers and/or point of sale systems. Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
Related Work Experience: At least 2 years of related work experience.
Supervisory Experience: No supervisory experience.
License or Certification: None
