Position Overview

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safety Management System (SMS): Develop, implement, and maintain the SMS in alignment with DGCA, ICAO, and CAR 21 requirements.
  • Risk Assessment & Mitigation: Identify hazards, conduct safety risk assessments, and implement mitigations throughout the aircraft lifecycle—from design to testing.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to national and international safety regulations, including CAR 21, CAR M, and CAR 145 as applicable.
  • Incident Reporting & Investigation: Lead safety investigations, root cause analysis, and ensure timely corrective actions and preventive measures.

Essential Requirements:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering, Safety Engineering, or related technical discipline.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in aviation safety, airworthiness, or quality assurance, preferably in aircraft design or UAV systems.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of DGCA regulations (CAR 21, CAR M, CAR 145, SMS Guidelines), ICAO Annex 19, and relevant safety protocols.
  • Analytical Skills: Proven ability in hazard identification, root cause analysis, and safety risk mitigation.
  • Communication: Strong documentation and communication skills for regulatory correspondence, safety reporting, and cross-functional coordination.
  • Tools & Software: Familiarity with safety reporting tools and safety data management systems.

As we scale our innovations, we are seeking an experienced and dynamic Safety Management Manager to lead our safety initiatives and regulatory compliance under DGCA CAR regulations and global best practices.


Position Overview

The Safety Management Manager will be responsible for establishing, implementing, and maintaining the organization’s Safety Management System (SMS), ensuring all operational activities meet the highest standards of airworthiness and regulatory compliance. This role is critical in managing risk, fostering a safety culture, and ensuring that our design and development programs are conducted within a robust safety framework.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Safety Management System (SMS): Develop, implement, and maintain the SMS in alignment with DGCA, ICAO, and CAR 21 requirements.
  • Risk Assessment & Mitigation: Identify hazards, conduct safety risk assessments, and implement mitigations throughout the aircraft lifecycle—from design to testing.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to national and international safety regulations, including CAR 21, CAR M, and CAR 145 as applicable.
  • Incident Reporting & Investigation: Lead safety investigations, root cause analysis, and ensure timely corrective actions and preventive measures.
  • Safety Audits & Reviews: Plan and conduct internal safety audits, track findings, and report to senior leadership and regulatory authorities.
  • Safety Promotion: Drive organization-wide safety awareness and training programs to embed a proactive safety culture.
  • Design Safety Assurance: Collaborate with engineering and design teams to ensure safety considerations are integrated during aircraft development and system design.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain thorough documentation of safety reports, risk registers, safety meetings, and regulatory communications.


Essential Requirements:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering, Safety Engineering, or related technical discipline.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in aviation safety, airworthiness, or quality assurance, preferably in aircraft design or UAV systems.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of DGCA regulations (CAR 21, CAR M, CAR 145, SMS Guidelines), ICAO Annex 19, and relevant safety protocols.
  • Analytical Skills: Proven ability in hazard identification, root cause analysis, and safety risk mitigation.
  • Communication: Strong documentation and communication skills for regulatory correspondence, safety reporting, and cross-functional coordination.
  • Tools & Software: Familiarity with safety reporting tools and safety data management systems.


Preferred Skills and Attributes:

  • Certified Safety Professional: SMS, QMS, or AS9100D certifications are a strong advantage.
  • Experience with eVTOL/UAV Operations: Understanding of safety challenges unique to emerging aviation platforms.
  • Leadership: Ability to lead cross-functional safety initiatives and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Crisis Management: Skilled in handling safety-critical events and ensuring compliance under pressure.
