Summary

Principal, Sales Engineering - Networking for Celestica are the primary technical resource for the account management sales team and provide both pre-sales and post-sales support activities in the field. Sales Engineers are responsible for actively driving and managing the technology evaluation stage of the sales process via consultative customer requirements assessments and product demonstration activities, working in conjunction with the sales team as the key technical advisor and product advocate for our solutions. The Sales Engineer must be able to articulate technology and product positioning to both business and technical users and must have the ability to identify all technical issues of assigned accounts to assure complete customer satisfaction through all stages of the sales process. The Sales Engineer must be able to establish and maintain strong relationships throughout the complete sales cycle and post-sales account advocacy process.

The ideal candidate for this position will support the east coast of the United States. 

Detailed Description

Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:

  • Work closely with assigned Sales Managers to drive the sales process and share in quota target objectives
  • Remove all technical hurdles required to successfully close opportunities
  • Development and delivery of product demonstrations, presentations, and demos as needed
  • Represent the products and solutions to the customers and at field events such as conferences, seminars, etc.
  • Ability to help in the response to functional and technical elements of RFIs/RFPs from the customer
  • Able to convey customer requirements to Product Management and Technology teams
  • Ability to travel throughout sales territory and to manufacturing facilities of Celestica’s needed with high levels of customer contact
  • Ability to coordinate and work with 3rd party ASIC suppliers, customers, and Celestica Product Line Marketing throughout the technology evaluation and implementation process as needed 
  • Qualifications

    Ideal candidate must be self-motivated with a proven track record in enterprise networking sales and related technologies and comfortable in the dynamic atmosphere of a technical organization with a rapidly expanding customer base. The Sales Engineer must possess strong presentation skills and be strong professionally in written and verbal communications, including, but not limited to emails, RFPs, and internal reporting. You must be organized and analytical as well as able to eliminate sales obstacles through creative and adaptive approaches.

  • Technical hands-on skills are highly valued.
  • 5+ years relevant technical experience in datacenter and access networking system sales to both enterprise and channel markets.
  • Experience with networking systems, topologies, applications, challenges, and advantages is a must.
  • Experience with networking protocol, management, and security technologies and applications is a must.
  • Experience with network rack level integration and corresponding optical modules and cabling consideration a plus. 
  • Experience and familiarity with related storage and computer systems which rely on networks is a plus.
  • Experience with dominant network NOS environments, particularly SONIC is a plus.
  • Experience with standards, organizations, and consortiums of relevant technology is a plus.
  • Proven hands-on capabilities with Linux, Windows, SAN, and networking NOS technologies such as FBOSS are a plus. 
  • Ability to communicate in Mandarin is a plus.
  • Physical Demands

  • Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
  • Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.
  • Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, etc.) are frequently required.
  • Frequent overnight travel may be required.
  • Duties of this position may require working very long hours for months at a time.
  • Up to 50% travel is possible.
  • Typical Experience

  • Twelve to Fourteen years of applicable experience. 
  • Prior team Management experience is highly desirable.
  • Typical Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field is required.

    About the Role

    A Day in the Life

  • Assist Senior Sales Engineers and Growth Strategists in responding to RFPs, RFIs and creating SOWs, proposals in line with customer requirements

The Account Manager will be responsible for managing and growing large GCC accounts in India, specifically in the Engineering & Manufacturing Software domain .     Key Responsibilities Account Mining & Growth
    • Develop a deep understanding of assigned Engineering & Manufacturing Software accounts, their product portfolios, and technology strategies.
    • Identify and pursue opportunities across resource augmentation, outsourced platform/product development, and co-innovation models .
    • Build and execute account growth strategies aligned with GCC’s R&D, product engineering, and digital transformation needs.
    Relationship Management
    • Act as the trusted partner for customer stakeholders in engineering, product development, and IT functions.
    • Build strong executive-level and working-level relationships to influence technology decisions.
    • Drive regular engagement through governance meetings, technical workshops, and innovation sessions.
    Collaboration with Internal Teams
    • Partner with Delivery Heads to ensure high-quality execution and alignment with client expectations.
    • Work with Talent Acquisition to forecast and fulfill niche skill demands in CAD/CAE, PLM, SLM, digital twin, and cloud platforms .
    • Coordinate with Pratiti’s practice leaders to bring domain-specific solutions and accelerators to the account.
    Domain Knowledge Contribution
    • Leverage strong background in Design Automation, PLM, SLM, or Industrial Cloud to engage with technical stakeholders credibly.
    • Understand client product development lifecycles and position Pratiti as a value-added partner.
    • Stay updated on trends in Industry 4.0, engineering automation, and industrial SaaS to shape client conversations.
    Operational Excellence
    • Govern account health by tracking delivery quality, utilization, profitability, and client satisfaction.
    • Proactively identify risks and collaborate with delivery teams for resolution.
    • Ensure timely renewals of contracts, MSAs, and SOWs.
    Business Development Support

    Selection of Accessories for valves. (Pneumatic, Electric).

    Providing on time technical and Commercial quotation to Customers through designated CRM tool. Responsible for meeting daily, weekly and monthly commitments for on time quotations.

    Providing suitable product for the given application. Optimization of the product.

    Providing Cost Estimation for Projects and MRO Quotes.

    Handling customer queries on products, participating in TQ meetings.

    Support Sales personnel in technical discussion with customers.

    Work with respective vendors for the accessories and other Valve components.

    Processing Sale orders in ERP, conducting Contract review meeting and handing off the sale order to Operations team.

    Meeting RFQ(Request for quotation) and Order processing Lead time and metrics.

    Manage change orders to reflect impact on price & delivery.

    Being a crossbridge among various functional departments in factory to successfully execute the order.

    Support the outside sales to meet their annual targets.

    Follow up functional departments to meet the customer committed delivery dates.

    Co-ordinating with Shipping team for Shipment related activities


    Skills & Knowledge Required / Educational Qualification :


    Engineering (Instrumentation/Mechanical/Production) Degree with 3- 8 years experience in preferably within the process industry/Valve industry.

    Background of valve industry experience with process application knowledge.

    Good communication and presentation skills.

    Familiar with basic business software applications. Microsoft / Excel /Power Bi / ERP(Enterprise Resource planning).

    Good knowledge of Incoterms (Commercial terms and conditions).

    Good interpersonal skills.

    Strong Team member.
