The global Human Resource (HR) Function provides an integrated talent management system that delivers a workforce that is Corning's competitive differentiator in the global marketplace.

**Role Purpose**
The plant HR team promotes business success through:
+ Employee Advocacy (positive employee relations),
+ Workforce and Leadership Development,
+ Delivering proactive, creative solutions to our business partners / clients, and
+ Stewardship of the Corning culture and Corning values.
**Key Responsibilities**
The Plant HR Generalist partners with the Plant HR Manager to ensure that his/her plant has the right number and type of talent to execute plant strategy and achieve desired business results; ensures plant establishes and maintains a positive work environment and operates as "One Corning" in support of Corning's values; assists in successful implementation of global HR business processes within the plant; and ensures plant compliance with HR-related legal and regulatory guidelines.
+ Establishes and maintains a presence on the plant floor to keep a read on the pulse of the organization
+ Proactively identifies and resolves employee relations issues in a fair and consistent manner that protects the needs of the plant to operate in an effective and efficient manner
+ Manages and mitigates employee grievances by ensuring supervisors and leadership are creating an open forum for discussion and resolution of plant issues
+ Coaches and counsel operations and engineering leadership management in development
+ Demonstration of leadership and management practices required to establish and maintain a positive work environment
+ Takes ownership for specific HR initiatives that support the effective operations of the organization by developing and/or delivering HR programs.
+ Tracks and documents employment issues and requests as required for procedural and statutory purposes
+ Identifies employee value proposition issues affecting turnover and works with Plant HR Manager to identify actions for improvement
+ Administration of contract labor management and government apprenticeship program
**Experiences/Education - Required**
+ Full time MBA or Post gradation in HR.
+ 8-12 years work experience in a manufacturing organization in India.
+ Strong interpersonal skills - able to build trust quickly with employees at multiple levels in the organization
+ Solid technical understanding of HR and ER.
+ Track record of delivering tangible business impact.
+ Strong business acumen - an interest in and ability to learn the business, understand business drivers, etc.
+ Strong communication skills (verbal, written, presentations)
+ Strong influence skills, experience influencing stakeholders with competing and/or diverging priorities, able to manage in a matrix organization
**Experiences/Education - Desired**
+ Experience with Greenfield or major plant expansion
