The **Senior Engineer - Pen Packaging Assembly Line** is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations of both **automatic and manual packaging lines** , ensuring productivity, quality, and safety standards are consistently met. **Tasks & Responsibilities**
**Production Planning & Execution -**
+ Monitor daily packaging output against targets and ensure smooth running of all lines.
+ Coordinate material availability and shift planning to meet delivery schedules.
**Line Balancing & Process Optimization -**
+ Implement best practices for balancing work content across manual and auto-packaging stations.
+ Continuously identify and eliminate process bottlenecks to improve throughput.
+ Analyze time studies and optimize work allocation to ensure smooth flow and minimal idle time.
+ Support introduction of productivity tools (e.g., poka-yoke, SMED) to reduce downtime.
**Team Supervision & People Management**
+ Supervise a workforce with majority female operators, ensuring engagement, discipline, and performance.
+ Provide on-the-job training and skill-building for line operators and setters.
**Quality & Compliance**
+ Ensure all packaging activities comply with quality standards, visual inspection criteria, and documentation protocols.

**Maintenance & Machine Coordination**
+ Coordinate with maintenance for timely machine servicing, breakdown response, and changeovers.

+ Lead New Product Introductions (NPIs) and manage manufacturing transfers for existing products in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

**Role Summary:**
Plans, directs, and coordinates manufacturing processes involving machining, assembly, and testing. Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling, and production. Analyzes and improves quality, cost, and delivery by using Lean and Six Sigma tools. Provides engineering support in production departments by trouble shooting and resolving technical issues.
**Responsibilities:**
-Partners with Manufacturing Supervisors to achieve Flowserve goals and objectives.
-Identify, Initiate & implement CI projects
-Identification of the Manufacturing Engineering / Tooling requirements for the Valve components
-Designing of Process Sequence - RM to Finished components - Machining; Welding. Assembly & Testing.
-Designing Fixtures/Tool Drawings in SolidWorks, AutoCAD or equivalent Working with the Production/SCM/ QC team to support production activities and provide necessary tooling as required.
-Preparation of Tooling Lists, Process Layouts, Stage drawings, Routing, SOP & Work
- Verification & Review of Control Plan from Suppliers Trouble Shooting in Shop Floor and Supplier places
-Assessment of Suppliers for Capability
-Collaborate with Site Managers to develop/drive/ implement CI improvement projects & monitor progress
-Support Operations Excellence and implement CI improvement projects
-Strong understanding of business process flows and controls from customer order entry to shipment
-Facilitate cross-functional project teams through all aspects of the CIP utilizing the tools of the
CIP to improve quality, cycle time, reduce costs and increase customer satisfaction.
-Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional terms is preferred.
-Keeps abreast of new developments in the field of machine tool equipment, tooling, and
methods. Recommend innovative solutions when applications are feasible to improve
throughput and quality.
-Understands and supports all Company objectives and performs duties delegated by
management.
-Enforces safety rules by ensuring that tooling, fixtures, and process meet all applicable OSHA
regulations.
- Enforces Flowserve's environmental policies by ensuring that processes meet all applicable
environmental regulations. Subcontractors are made aware of Flowserve's applicable
environmental policies and are managed to these policies.
-Demonstrates the ability and willingness to be a team player
**Requirements:**
+ Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Mechanical engineering (or equivalent).
+ 5-9 years of experience as Manufacturing Engineering in Valve Domain
+ Worked in Manufacturing /Production Engineering for at least Eight (4)+ years of experience.
**Preferred Skills/Experience:**
-Experienced in Valve / Heavy Engg. industry preferred.
-Machining & Machine tools requirements
-knowledge Working in Opex. / lean manufacturing environment
- Lean certification
-Hands-on experience with 5S, SMED, TPM, VSM, Single piece flow, line balancing, SFM
- Kaizen, Poka-yoke activities
- Strong understanding of business process flows and controls from customer order entry to shipment
- Knowledge of Oracle ERP will be an advantage.
- Quality management systems and/or ISO9000 training, or equivalent.
