Position Overview
The Shift Engineer will be responsible for managing day-to-day operations at the Optical Fibre Draw Tower, ensuring efficient production, quality output, and adherence to safety and operational standards. The role requires hands-on experience in fibre drawing sub-processes such as furnace, die floor, and centralized coating systems, preferably with exposure to Draw Tower technologies from Nextrom, S.G. Controls, Conductix Delachaux, or ZTT .
Primary Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor all die floor activities across three shifts as per standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Ensure achievement of shift production targets, maintaining required yield and product quality.
- Maintain all equipment in optimal working condition and ensure minimal downtime.
- Conduct regular inspections and submit shift performance and progress reports.
- Identify operational inefficiencies and recommend corrective or improvement measures.
- Ensure accurate and timely production data entries in ERP systems.
- Troubleshoot process and operational issues during the shift.
- Operate and manage centralized coating systems, including changeovers and maintenance coordination.
Additional Responsibilities
- Adhere to all Quality Management System (QMS) and Environment, Occupational Health & Safety (EOHS) standards.
