Our client is seeking a dedicated Soil Conservationist to join their team in Vadodara, Gujarat, IN . This role is focused on protecting and improving soil resources through the development and implementation of conservation plans and practices. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of soil science, hydrology, and land management techniques. You will be responsible for assessing land conditions, developing conservation strategies, and working with landowners and agricultural stakeholders to implement these plans. This hybrid role requires a balance of field work and office-based planning and analysis. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for collaborating with diverse groups and educating them on conservation methods. We are looking for a motivated individual with a passion for environmental stewardship and sustainable land use. Responsibilities include:
  • Assessing soil health, erosion risks, and land-use suitability.
  • Developing and implementing soil and water conservation plans for agricultural and non-agricultural lands.
  • Advising landowners on best management practices (BMPs) for soil erosion control, water management, and nutrient cycling.
  • Conducting field surveys and collecting data on soil types, topography, and vegetation.
  • Monitoring the effectiveness of implemented conservation measures.
  • Preparing technical reports, maps, and recommendations for land management.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Soil Science, Agronomy, Environmental Science, Agriculture, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in soil conservation, land management, or a closely related field.
  • Strong knowledge of soil science, hydrology, erosion control techniques, and land management.
  • Familiarity with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and other mapping tools is desirable.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

**Responsibilities**
+ Undertake assessments and remediation of contaminated land, groundwater and surface water resources by applying appropriate analysis and evaluation, drawing on relevant guidance, international and national policies
+ Undertake desk-based studies of site investigation data; prepare remedial action plans and monitoring/management plans; other expert services
+ Prepare technical reports including the analysis and interpretation of investigation and monitoring data
+ Work in conjunction with senior staff in specialty domains like geotechnical and planning etc
+ Assist with preparing expressions of interest, pre-qualifications, project proposals/bids, fee estimates and project work programmes and budgets
+ Maintain knowledge of current technical standards, good practice guidance, legislation, codes of practice and New Zealand standards like the National Environmental Standard for Assessing and Managing Contaminants in Soil to Protect Human Health, Regulations 2011 (NESCS)
+ Ensure assignments are completed on schedule or in a timely manner and within budget
+ Work in sync with multidisciplinary, cross-cultural and geographically distributed teams; Integrate technical inputs from project peers to deliver the project outcome.
