Position:  Audio Technician

Department:  Electrical Department

Key Responsibilities

Audio-Visual Operations:

• Set up, operate, and manage audio and visual systems for events in various facilities, including Conference Halls, Open Auditoriums, Indoor Auditoriums, COE Meeting Halls, and Chandra Seminar Halls.
• Ensure high-quality sound, lighting, and multimedia support during events, seminars, conferences, and meetings.
• Coordinate with event organizers and other departments to meet specific technical requirements for events and presentations.
• Install and configure new audio-visual equipment, sound systems, and projection setups for both large and small events.
• Ensure all equipment is fully functional, tested, and prepared before each event.

Inventory & Equipment Management:

• Maintain an inventory of all audio-visual and electrical equipment, ensuring proper storage, regular testing, and calibration of systems.
• Manage spare parts and supplies, ensuring that any necessary components are readily available for immediate use or replacement.

Safety & Compliance:

• Ensure all installations, setups, and maintenance practices follow safety protocols and meet organizational standards.
• Adhere to all local regulations and safety standards for electrical systems, HVAC maintenance, and audio-visual equipment use.

Our Client is an award winning Audio Visual and Technologies company that is responsible for the design, supply, installation and maintenance of Home Automation and Audio Visual Control technology for residential and commercial premises.

We provide solutions to architects, builders, electricians and end-users.

You will be involved in the installation, programming and maintenance of the following:

• Networking (Wired / Wireless)
• Audio Visual Distribution
• Access Control
• Alarm System
• CCTV
• Philips Dynalite
• iOS / Android Touch Panel Control

You will communicate between the architect, builder, electrician and the internal team to deliver the project. You will be reporting to the director of the company.

Key Selection Criteria:

• Customer service
• Planning and organising
• Good communication skills
• Critical thinking and problem solving skills
• Previous experience in Philips Dynalite / C-Bus installation and programming
• Previous experience in installation and programming of Alarm Systems, CCTV, Access Control, Audio Visual Distribution
• Manual Drivers’ Licence
• Working on multiple projects and sites

The Audio-Visual (AV) Technician is responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and operation of

AV systems. The role includes ensuring high-quality AV experiences across various settings and supporting the

technical team by resolving technical issues efficiently. The position requires a balance of technical expertise,

customer support, and attention to detail

Accountabilities:

• Install and configure AV systems, including projectors, sound systems, video conferencing equipment, and

control systems.

• Ensure equipment functionality through testing and adjustments.

• Diagnose and resolve AV system issues, including hardware, software, and network connections.

• Conduct preventive maintenance and keep a detailed log of repairs and technical issues.

• Provide technical support during events and assist users with AV setups.

• Operate equipment as needed during presentations and meetings to ensure smooth operation.

• Collaborate on AV installations and upgrades.

• Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for equipment sourcing or replacement.

• Maintain up-to-date documentation for AV systems and report issues for improved decision-making

Education experience, training, and skills required:

• High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.

• 2+ years of experience in AV installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

• Proficiency with AV systems and equipment.

• Knowledge of networked AV systems and AV industry standards.

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Excellent communication skills for technical guidance and support.

• Ability to work independently or as part of a team

Working Conditions:

• Physical requirements include lifting equipment and working at heights as needed.

• Schedule flexibility, with occasional evenings or weekends based on events
