**Introduction**
Applied Materials is the leader in materials engineering solutions used to produce virtually every new chip and advanced display in the world. The **NPI MPM** is responsible for sourcing of newly designed products, setting up strategies for cost reduction, supply continuity and sourcing decisions.
**Primary Responsibility**
+ Responsible for initiating and managing RFQ, lead time, should cost (Cost estimation) request assigned by internal stakeholders.
+ Able to utilize existing supplier matrix for quoting, negotiate and award business to supplier.
+ Drive dual sourcing to ensure supply continuity, understand long-lead drivers and develop lead time mitigation strategies.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define sourcing strategies/ plans for NPI/ Pilot projects.
+ Responsible for supplier part qualification per inspection requirements for components identified as critical parts.
+ Ability to understand multi-level BOM, read drawings, special process/ specifications and communicate with suppliers.
+ Identify make vs. buy opportunities and drive alignment/decision with key stakeholders

**Qualification & Experience**
+ Bachelor's degree in engineering (Preferably Mechanical/Electrical or Electronics) with minimum of 6 years of experience into sourcing, program management and supplier management.
+ Must have Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics commodity experience
**Job Specific skills/Knowledge (Mandatory)**
+ Should have prior **sourcing, negotiation, dual sourcing, and supplier management** experience.
+ Proficient with MS Office. **Excel** is a must

Job Summary:

Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and implementation of category sourcing strategies for key indirect and direct spend areas.
- Conduct comprehensive market intelligence and supplier analysis to identify sourcing opportunities and potential risks.

- Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, developing contingency plans as needed.
- Stay abreast of industry best practices, emerging trends, and new sourcing technologies.
- Mentor and develop junior members of the procurement team.
- Prepare and present detailed reports on sourcing activities, savings achieved, and supplier performance to senior management.
- Streamline procurement processes to enhance efficiency and reduce cycle times.
- Manage the supplier onboarding process, including due diligence and contract execution.
- Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or category management.
- Demonstrated success in managing complex, multi-million dollar sourcing projects.
- Expertise in negotiation techniques, contract law, and supplier management.
- Strong analytical and financial modeling skills.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Proficiency in procurement software, ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle), and e-sourcing tools.
- Experience working in a challenging and fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented setting in Kolkata, West Bengal .
- Strong understanding of risk management principles in the supply chain.
