**Roles & Responsibilities:**
The VAVE Sr. Product Development Engineer will work on the advanced value analysis and value engineering initiatives within TE's DDN business, delivering cost optimization and increased customer value. This role goes beyond traditional VAVE boundaries by driving R&D efforts in emerging and futuristic materials, advanced manufacturing processes, automation, digital technologies, and innovative supplier solutions. **Job Overview**
As a Product Dvl Engineer in the Signal Integrity team you will focus on the electrical design, simulation, and verification-validation testing of high speed products in the connector and/or cable assembly, radio system industry-targeting high speed communications and connectivity within datacenters and wireless infrastructure. You will be expected to independently work on projects in the areas of signal integrity for product and system design including modeling, simulation, testing and circuit board layout. You will work collaboratively within a broader cross functional team of mechanical, manufacturing, & operations to execute leading edge products designs. You will be the subject matter expert for the signal integrity performance of a product/platform beginning with the initial analysis through prototype fabrication & evaluation, and production verification testing. You will tackle challenging design problems and utilize simulation tools to guide complex designs toward success.
**Roles & Responsibilities:**
- Subject matter expert in signal integrity design, simulation and validation activities through product development cycles
- Establishing signal integrity design performance/functional requirements for new products
- Performing signal integrity simulations for multiple high-speed standards on each product. This includes determining the correct simulation methodology and setup to use, as well as a good understanding of the criteria for each interface.
- Performing PCB design schematic and layout reviews
- Creating actionable recommendations based upon design reviews and simulation results
- Guiding connector design and component qualifications from a signal integrity standpoint. Making data driven decisions about the product functionality and areas for improvement.
**Required Skills/ Experience:**
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, master's degree a plus
- Should have total work experience of 5+years.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of work experience in a signal integrity engineering role or related experience
- Experience with interconnect design, including socket/connector/cable/cable assembly design (high-speed twinax cables, direct attach copper (DAC) cables), and/or RF antenna, RF sub-system
- Demonstrated experience using Signal integrity analysis tools (Agilent ADS, Ansys HFSS, CST, or equivalent tools)
- A solid understanding of electromagnetic theory and electrical circuit behavior
- Strong analytical capabilities to interpret simulation and lab data to identify issues and provide solutions to fix identified problem. SixSigma methodologies or other strong data analytics background a PLUS.
- Familiarity with printed circuit board design, fabrication and assembly. Proficient in Altium a PLUS
- Experience in project leadership, especially as it applies across design, development & manufacturing teams
- Fluent in English (both verbal and written) to facilitate global communication both internally and with external customers.

**Role Objective and Responsibilities:**
A PCB Simulation Engineer in PCB Simulation Team, Digital Data Networks (DDN) business in TE Connectivity, validates electronic designs by conducting electrical, signal integrity, power integrity, EMC, RF and thermal simulations to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and manufacturability. The responsibilities include analysing circuit designs, utilizing specialized simulation software, troubleshooting issues through modelling, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet project specifications before physical prototyping.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Circuit Simulation: Perform electrical, signal integrity (SI), power integrity (PI), EMC, RF and thermal simulations to predict and validate circuit behaviour and identify potential performance issues.
- Design Optimization: Use simulation results to optimize component placement, routing, and overall design for performance, reliability, and manufacturability (DFM) in collaboration with PCB Design Team.
- Analysis and Validation: Coordinate design validation activities with PCB Design Team for design rule checks (DRC) and performance evaluations to ensure designs meet requirements.
- Software Proficiency: Utilize high speed PCB simulation tools (e.g. SIwave/HFSS, Pathwave ADS, SIPro, HyperLyx, Sigrity, CST Studio Suite, EMC Plus, Microwave Office, ICEPAK/FLOTHERM/CELSIUS etc.) to simulate and analyse designs.

**What your background should look like**
**Education:**
- A bachelor's degree in electrical or electronics engineering from a premier institute/university. A master's degree in a related field is preferred. Consistent performance throughout entire academics (e.g. STD-X onwards).
Experience:
- Around 4-6 years of extensive hands-on experience in high-speed PCB simulation, with a proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects with deadlines.
- Proficient and foundational knowledge on printed circuit board layout, libraries and schematics, routing, manufacturability and testing.
Technical Skills:

**Roles & Responsibilities:**
**ROLE OBJECTIVE**
**As Sr R&D/PRODUCT DVL ENGINEER** in TE Connectivity's Digital Data & Networks (DDN) Business Unit, you will work in a global sustaining engineering team responsible for the continued support and evolution of production parts and products throughout their lifecycle. This includes driving product lifecycle management, product extensions, rapid NPIs, VAVE initiatives, sustainability improvements, material and process changes, and manufacturing location transfers. The role also involves providing technical support to plants, suppliers, and customers to ensure continuity, quality, and cost optimization.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**
Responsible for sustaining activities for the Antenna, RF, COAX cable and connector product lines.
Execute critical engineering projects, including manufacturing transfers, sustaining, product extensions, cost reduction (VAVE), sustainability and rapid New Product Introduction.
Represent engineering in customer meetings, project meetings and site visits, providing technical support and insights as needed.
Support the complete product life cycle (Design updates, Creation of product specifications, 3D/2D modeling, Prototyping, Product testing, Product qualification, Project Execution & Sustaining till product end of life)
Work closely with PM and other cross functions in getting the right and clear requirements to make engineering evaluation/proposal to update the design.
Follow sustaining Project Process to support project team from PDE perspective to complete Project on time, quality and budget.
Technical support for customers, sales, PM and plant team. Define & coordinate with test lab for necessary qualification testing, engineering analysis, trouble shooting and verification.
Apply engineering is the best practice to reduce costs and sustain exiting products to meet customers' cost targets.
2D & 3D drawing creation (Creo and SolidWorks Preferred) and release as per TE standards and procedures through ECR/ECN/PCN processes.
**Education And Experiences:**
**PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND**
Bachelor's degree in mechanical, or a related Engineering discipline; advanced degree preferred.
8+ years working experience as new product development or sustaining engineering related positions including 3+ years of working experience on product development of Antenna, RF, COAX cable and connector.
Strong foundation in mechanical engineering principles with proven application in product development.
This position is highly technical and requires an individual who can work independently.
Understanding product compliance certification and qualification testing.
Experience in design for manufacturing and assembly (DFMA), design for cost (DFC), design for manufacturing (DFM)
Demonstrated problem-solving and root cause analysis.
Proven expertise in sustaining engineering and product lifecycle support, including design enhancements, prototyping, testing, and cost/productivity improvements (VAVE).
Understanding of product lifecycle management (PLM) and new product development (NPD) processes.
Hands-on experience with modern design and analysis tools including 3D CAD, modeling, Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T), and simulation tools.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as machining, molding, stamping, and plating.
Basic understanding of quality tools and methodologies such as FMEA, Six Sigma, DOE, 8D, etc.

**Responsibilities**
+ Work within a global multidisciplinary team environment as Product Engineering lead to design and develop functionally robust and cost-effective Connector products / processes to meet customer and market needs
+ Deliver regional and global NPD projects which includes activities like Concept generation, Concept validation, tolerance stack analysis, DFMEA, conduct design reviews, basic FEA simulation, Creation of detailed designs and drawings in CREO by applying DFM/DFA principles, creation of product validation / Qualification test plans, perform component fit and function analysis.
+ Execute Sustaining activities of legacy products like Customer queries, field failures, address design related manufacturing concerns, BOM & change management in windchill, product improvements, necessary product design documentation/specification updates.
+ Should be able to interact with global stakeholder (Product management/Sales etc.) and directly with Customers and communicate technical details efficiently.
+ Should evaluate & handle Agency (UL, CSA and VDE) approval requirements for the products
+ Identify VAVE opportunities and work with plant and other stake holders to implement them.

The Data and Devices Business Unit is looking for a high speed connector Product Development Engineer to design and develop high speed I/O (Input/Output) solutions to solve Data and Devices customer needs , along with TE product roadmap, manufacturing, mechanical assembly techniques, and technology roadmaps. The Product Development Engineer is responsible for design and documentation of new products, from market definition through production and release. The position conceives original ideas for new products/solutions and develops them into practical and economical models. His/her major activities are in the areas of design, development, testing, and manufacture of connectors, products, and systems.
The High Speed I/O Product Development Engineer determines specifications, performs engineering analyses, makes preliminary sketches and design, coordinates support operations such as fabrication engineering samples and testing. Interaction with customers, vendors, marketing and sales personnel, and other engineering areas during the pre-production stages of new products is also an important part of the role.
Responsibilities & Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
• BS degree in Engineering required (Mechanical / Systems discipline preferred)
• At least 5-8 years of engineering experience in connector industry
• Basic knowledge of high speed signal transmission.
Must have demonstrated experience in the following:
• Fundamental understanding of connector design and mechanical assembly and/or manufacturing techniques
