**Job Overview**
As a Product Dvl Engineer in the Signal Integrity team you will focus on the electrical design, simulation, and verification-validation testing of high speed products in the connector and/or cable assembly, radio system industry-targeting high speed communications and connectivity within datacenters and wireless infrastructure. You will be expected to independently work on projects in the areas of signal integrity for product and system design including modeling, simulation, testing and circuit board layout. You will work collaboratively within a broader cross functional team of mechanical, manufacturing, & operations to execute leading edge products designs. You will be the subject matter expert for the signal integrity performance of a product/platform beginning with the initial analysis through prototype fabrication & evaluation, and production verification testing. You will tackle challenging design problems and utilize simulation tools to guide complex designs toward success.
**Roles & Responsibilities:**
- Subject matter expert in signal integrity design, simulation and validation activities through product development cycles
- Establishing signal integrity design performance/functional requirements for new products
- Performing signal integrity simulations for multiple high-speed standards on each product. This includes determining the correct simulation methodology and setup to use, as well as a good understanding of the criteria for each interface.
- Performing PCB design schematic and layout reviews
- Creating actionable recommendations based upon design reviews and simulation results
- Guiding connector design and component qualifications from a signal integrity standpoint. Making data driven decisions about the product functionality and areas for improvement.
**Required Skills/ Experience:**
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, master's degree a plus
- Should have total work experience of 5+years.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of work experience in a signal integrity engineering role or related experience
- Experience with interconnect design, including socket/connector/cable/cable assembly design (high-speed twinax cables, direct attach copper (DAC) cables), and/or RF antenna, RF sub-system
- Demonstrated experience using Signal integrity analysis tools (Agilent ADS, Ansys HFSS, CST, or equivalent tools)
- A solid understanding of electromagnetic theory and electrical circuit behavior
- Strong analytical capabilities to interpret simulation and lab data to identify issues and provide solutions to fix identified problem. SixSigma methodologies or other strong data analytics background a PLUS.

A PCB Simulation Engineer in PCB Simulation Team, Digital Data Networks (DDN) business in TE Connectivity, validates electronic designs by conducting electrical, signal integrity, power integrity, EMC, RF and thermal simulations to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and manufacturability. **Key Responsibilities**

**ROLE OBJECTIVE**
**As Sr R&D/PRODUCT DVL ENGINEER** in TE Connectivity's Digital Data & Networks (DDN) Business Unit, you will work in a global sustaining engineering team responsible for the continued support and evolution of production parts and products throughout their lifecycle. This includes driving product lifecycle management, product extensions, rapid NPIs, VAVE initiatives, sustainability improvements, material and process changes, and manufacturing location transfers. **RESPONSIBILITIES**
Responsible for sustaining activities for the Antenna, RF, COAX cable and connector product lines.
Execute critical engineering projects, including manufacturing transfers, sustaining, product extensions, cost reduction (VAVE), sustainability and rapid New Product Introduction.
Represent engineering in customer meetings, project meetings and site visits, providing technical support and insights as needed.

**Education And Experiences:**
**PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND**
Bachelor's degree in mechanical, or a related Engineering discipline; advanced degree preferred.
8+ years working experience as new product development or sustaining engineering related positions including 3+ years of working experience on product development of Antenna, RF, COAX cable and connector.

**Job Overview**
TE Connectivity's R&D/Product Development Engineering Teams conceive original ideas for new products, introduce them into practice. They are responsible for product development, and qualification from market definition through production and release; assist in the qualification of suppliers for new products to ensure suppliers deliver quality parts, materials, and services for new or improved manufacturing processes; conduct feasibility studies, testing on new and modified designs; direct and support detailed design, testing, prototype fabrication and manufacturing ramp. **Responsibilities**
+ Work within a global multidisciplinary team environment as Product Engineering lead to design and develop functionally robust and cost-effective Connector products / processes to meet customer and market needs
+ Deliver regional and global NPD projects which includes activities like Concept generation, Concept validation, tolerance stack analysis, DFMEA, conduct design reviews, basic FEA simulation, Creation of detailed designs and drawings in CREO by applying DFM/DFA principles, creation of product validation / Qualification test plans, perform component fit and function analysis.
+ Execute Sustaining activities of legacy products like Customer queries, field failures, address design related manufacturing concerns, BOM & change management in windchill, product improvements, necessary product design documentation/specification updates.
+ Should be able to interact with global stakeholder (Product management/Sales etc.) and directly with Customers and communicate technical details efficiently.
+ Should evaluate & handle Agency (UL, CSA and VDE) approval requirements for the products
+ Identify VAVE opportunities and work with plant and other stake holders to implement them.
+ Collaborate on continuous improvement initiatives using TEOA / Digital methodologies.
+ Showcase 'Go-getter' and 'Innovation' mindset while executing the project deliverables.
+ Ability to work as technical mentor and coach to local team and wider Global engineering community
**Required Skills**
**Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:**
+ Expert in design and development of Sheetmetal and Plastic products
+ Deep knowledge of associated manufacturing processes (moulding, stamping, plating and Assy)
+ Knowledge of materials, finishes and contact physics related to interconnection design
+ Knowledge of wire termination techniques (crimping, soldering, welding etc.)
+ Experience of testing requirements and techniques for product qualification
+ Knowledge of Voice of Customer, Design to Value, Design for Six Sigma.
+ General knowledge of industry specifications such as UL, CSA, IEC, and EIA are desirable
+ Hands on experience of simulation (Ansys or similar) and prototyping for product verification
+ Excellent verbal and written communications skills, ability to communicate Globally at all levels internally and externally

**KEY RESPONSBILITIES:**
- Responsible for New product development and product extension

- Join weekly meetings with customers to present design concept, taking the challenge to figure out solution for customers concerns about design
- Technical support for customers, conduct necessary tests, engineering analysis. Interacts with customers, vendors, marketing and sales personnel, and other engineering areas for working alignment.
- Hands-on try-out in customer side or lab for getting feasible technical proposals, problem/issues solving, new solutions. Demonstrate TE solution with solid samples and prototypes or professional engineering reports with consumer application.
- Judging manufacturing deviations and making decisions on deviation acceptance.
- Work with FAI approvals, Process Capability Study, 8D report and 5 WHY analysis.
- Periodically engineering review and report.
**DESIRED SKILLS**
- B.S. degree or above, majored in mechanical engineering or related field.
- 10+ years working experience of hardware or chassis design. mechanical architecture working experience in Sever, Switch is preferred
- Extensive knowledge about stamping, auto assembly processes. Familiar with molding process.
- Abundant knowledge in material usage, industry standards, and international application.
- Proficient in using Pro/E software with solid working experience, FEA simulation skills will be a plus.
- Tolerance analysis skill of worst cast analysis, RSS analysis and statistical data analysis
- Knowledge in Basic Quality techniques
- Willing to communicate proactively with good communication skills in English (oral and written) to correctly understand customer requirement and conveying engineering information.

Job Overview

The Data and Devices Business Unit is looking for a high speed connector Product Development Engineer to design and develop high speed I/O (Input/Output) solutions to solve Data and Devices customer needs , along with TE product roadmap, manufacturing, mechanical assembly techniques, and technology roadmaps. The Product Development Engineer is responsible for design and documentation of new products, from market definition through production and release. The position conceives original ideas for new products/solutions and develops them into practical and economical models. His/her major activities are in the areas of design, development, testing, and manufacture of connectors, products, and systems.
The High Speed I/O Product Development Engineer determines specifications, performs engineering analyses, makes preliminary sketches and design, coordinates support operations such as fabrication engineering samples and testing. Interaction with customers, vendors, marketing and sales personnel, and other engineering areas during the pre-production stages of new products is also an important part of the role.

Responsibilities & Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

• BS degree in Engineering required (Mechanical / Systems discipline preferred)
• At least 5-8 years of engineering experience in connector industry
• Basic knowledge of high speed signal transmission.

Must have demonstrated experience in the following:

• Fundamental understanding of connector design and mechanical assembly and/or manufacturing techniques
• Design for Manufacturing (DFM) review, preparation, and presentation to address customer design, engineering, and manufacturing requirements 
• Detailed understanding of manufacturing processes to include stamping, molding, plating, and automated product assembly
• Experience in development engineering and participation in full product development cycle
• Demonstrated proficiency in 3D Design Applications, ProE or Spaceclaim preferred, ANSYS simulation beneficial
• Strong interpersonal communication and teaming skills
• English language is a must to working with a global team or customers in both written and oral communication.
• SI (Signal Integrity) related design experience in high speed signal transmission is a strong plus
