This role is based in Chennai which has just recently been established as one of 3 global IT hubs for Hapag-Lloyd and will be the global IT development hub. The IT Analyst is required to play a crucial role in helping Hapag-Lloyd to achieve its goals by successfully innovating and creating world class solutions while optimizing the costs as efficiently as possible.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Event Management role is responsible for leveraging ITIL process skills, specifically focused on event management monitoring across the IT estate. The role will initially focused on IT infrastructure and operations and then expand into customer journeys.

This role is important to service reliability increases that Hapag-Lloyd is investing in. Capturing events and identifying critical issues needing attention will be the primary mission supporting the maturity increase through reactive > proactive > predictive and preventative approach, leveraging SRE, AI and ML capabilities. The role requires working in a 24x7 global operation environment to deliver service excellence.

Role and Responsibilities

1.Strategic HR Leadership

• Lead the HR department, aligning workforce strategy with company goals.
• Ensure staffing and deployment readiness for high-profile events , often involving VIPs or government officials.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all political interactions.

2. Protocol & Political Coordination

• Manage HR-side coordination for events involving Ministers, MLAs, and other dignitaries.
• Liaise with political representatives' offices for scheduling, security clearances, and protocol compliance.
• Train staff in VIP etiquette , security protocols, and chain-of-command awareness.

3. Recruitment & Onboarding

• Hire specialized staff (e.g., protocol officers, bouncers, liaison officers) for political and public sector events.
• Vet temporary and freelance staff for backgrounds and discretion , especially those working near dignitaries.
• Maintain a database of trusted personnel suitable for political assignments.

4. Compliance & Legal Liaison

• Ensure company and staff compliance with local government regulations during political events.
• Coordinate police permissions, labor documentation, and political clearances with local bodies (GHMC, Telangana Police, etc.).
• Work with legal advisors to maintain documentation for government-related contracts and services.

5. Event Staffing & Deployment

• Oversee manpower planning for political rallies, inaugurations, foundation-laying ceremonies , and government-sponsored events.
• Manage shift schedules and rotations for large-scale outdoor events requiring high security.
• Ensure backup staffing plans during politically sensitive or high-traffic events.

6. Performance & Conduct Management

7. Liaison with Local Authorities

• Build strong relationships with police, GHMC, and political liaisons.

• Work with event security teams to enforce safety measures for VIP attendance.
• Maintain coordination with government-assigned security personnel.
