Purpose of the role:
The purpose of the role is to optimize manufacturing processes, ensure product quality, promote safety, drive continuous improvement, and lead engineering projects in seal manufacturing.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the entire rubber to metal bonded seal manufacturing process, from rubber mixing to extrusion, compression molding, and injection molding. Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures and maintain optimal process conditions.
- Work with various rubber materials, including FKM, NBR, HNBR, ACM, and AEM. Knowledge of their properties, handling, and performance is essential for successful manufacturing.
- Ensure compliance with industry quality standards, with a strong emphasis on TS16949. Implement quality control procedures and monitor product quality to meet or exceed customer expectations
- Identify and resolve production issues, both proactively and reactively. Troubleshoot equipment, material, and process problems to minimize production downtime.
- Continuously evaluate and enhance manufacturing processes to increase efficiency, reduce cycle times, and optimize resource utilization. Implement lean manufacturing principles where applicable
- Apply strong problem-solving skills to address technical challenges, product defects, and process discrepancies. Implement corrective and preventive actions to maintain product consistency.
- Lead and participate in engineering projects related to process improvement, new process establishment, process validation, and new product development. Coordinate cross-functional teams to achieve project goals.
- Possess a fundamental understanding of engineering design principles to collaborate effectively with design teams and contribute to product development

Your Contribution
- You will be responsible for to work as a process engineer at the cam shaft machining lines ensuring all the operational processes are adhered to required standards.
- You will be responsible to ensure using the best practices ensuring most productive process to give best efficiency, lowest process rejection and with minimum conversion cost.
- You will be responsible to ensure all the process documentation serving its intent to provide best controls on process and should be managed as live documents considering all the updates.
- You will be responsible to contribute in trouble shooting for issues observed on line causing rejection / rework generation, improving cycle times, reducing conversion cost including manpower cost, consumable cost etc.
- You, being member of engineering, will be responsible work with CFT (Production, quality and maintenance) to ensure new product development activities on the production lines and support to introduce new projects.
- Similarly, you will also be responsible for analyzing, proposing and executing change management system on production lines.
- You will be responsible to handle the regular audits for the production lines as per IATF systems.
Your Experience and Qualification
- Must have the experience of machining and grinding process for cylindrical components like Cam shaft and crack shaft.
- Must have the knowledge of APQP and process documents (Like PFD, FMEA, Control plan etc.) with its intent, which supports a right process design supporting high productive manufacturing facility.
- Must have good in-depth knowledge about inspection methods for all the critical drawing parameters. You should know different inspection equipment's like CMM, Surface roughness tester, profile tester, cleanliness measurement equipment etc. along with its working principles
- Should have good understanding about heat treatment processes like induction hardening, phosphating etc.
- Must have knowledge about IATF and related systems.
- Must have a good understanding about the safety systems to ensure safe working environment on production lines.
- Must have the attitude to work as a team.
- Should have good leadership skills and learning attitude.
- Must have good command over MS excel.
- Knowledge of 2-D and 3-D software is desirable.
- Should be resourceful for providing the inputs for new technology and new generation machines required to improvise the production facility.
- Should have good understanding about IOT / Industry 4.0 and digitalization topics and its integration to production facility.
- 5 – 8 years of relevant industry experience is required.
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical / industrial production is required.
