Key Roles & Responsibilities:
- Storage System Design and Implementation
- Develop and maintain the organization's storage strategy, aligning with business requirements and IT objectives.
- Contribute to the development of disaster recovery and business continuity plans related to storage infrastructure.
- Define and enforce storage standards, policies, and best practices.
- Design, implementation, Configuration, and Administration of mission critical Fiber Channel Storage Systems (NetApp, Dell, Pure, Cisco and Brocade San Storage).
- Lead the implementation and configuration of new storage systems and expansions.

- Implement and manage data protection strategies, including backups, replication, and archiving.

- Work closely with virtualization team to recommend and implement best practices around storage deployments .

- Automation and Optimization:
- Identify opportunities for automation of storage-related tasks and implement scripting or tools to improve efficiency.
- Continuously evaluate and optimize storage infrastructure for performance, cost-effectiveness, and resource utilization.
- Create Perl and Bash scripts to automate various storage administration tasks.
Technical Skills and Competencies:
Required:
- Expertise in SAN/NAS technologies (e.g., Fibre Channel, iSCSI, NFS, CIFS/SMB).
- Proficiency in storage platforms like NetApp, EMC Unity/PMAX, Pure Storage and IBM Storwize.
- Strong knowledge of backup and recovery technologies.
- Experience with cloud storage (AWS S3/EBS, Azure Blob, etc.).
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware vSphere, Hyper-V,OpenStack).
- Proficiency with storage area networks (SAN), storage virtualization, data replication, and clustered storage systems such as NetApp ONTAP.
