A regional council situated about 2 hours from Melbourne is looking for 2 x Strategic Planners to support the team and manage a number of key projects.
Principal Strategic Planner (Band 7)
This role will focus on strategic growth area planning projects such as preparation and delivery of Precinct Structure Plan, implementation of Development Contributions Plan, and master planning projects.
The ideal candidate would have demonstrated strong strategic planning experience in growth area planning, strong project management skills and the ability to work autonomously without supervision.
Senior Strategic Planner (Band 6)
This role will work on other strategic planning projects – including Housing Strategy, Activity Centres, Industrial and Commercial Strategy, and policy reviews.
These positions will be an ongoing contract – at least 6-month engagement with possibility for further extensions. The Planners would ideally be able to go to Council for a few days per week initially to build relationships with internal team and stakeholders.
Hourly pay rate is negotiable for the right candidate.

Reporting to the Director City Strategy, this is a key management role. You will be the figurehead for all aspects of infrastructure planning and funding across council, including being accountable for providing expert level advice to councils Executive and councillors as well as working collaboratively across the organisation to ensure a cohesive “One CoM” approach to Infrastructure Planning.

Establishing contemporary approaches to funding mechanisms for urban renewal precincts and masterplans through to municipal wide infrastructure planning.
As well as leading specific projects your role will also be to collaborate across the organisation to establish robust policies and procedures for DCP/ICP Management within the council.
