JOB SUMMARY
The Capital Stress testing team forms an integral part of the capital adequacy assessment process. The team conducts balance sheet and income statement analysis to come up with projections for Equity, CET1 and other levels of capital, thereby helping to determine the capital cushion under various scenarios including economically stress ones. At a PLC level, stress testing exercises are conducted for BoE, ICAAP. Stress testing exercise is also carried out or supported for where the Bank has considerable footprint.
The position is for an Individual contributor role who would be able to understand concepts well, analyze, come up with findings and present the same to the leadership team to arrive at valuable insights, in addition to performing model execution and data extraction.
Below further outline tasks and responsibilities that could be expected:
- Deliver on the, Balance Sheet & Income Statement projections for the Enterprise-wide Stress Testing (EWST) exercises
- Carry out the movement analysis & narratives for BS/PnL metrics
- Carry out analysis on Capital numbers including CET1, Total capital and compare against Basel and reg requirements
- Ensure compliance to EWST procedures, methodologies, and controls.
- Manage all governance related aspects of the execution of stress testing
- Drive process improvements and best practices for more efficiency and productivity
- Support development and maintenance of underlying models to enhance stress testing methodology.
- Deliver adequate documentation on stress testing methodology subject to management, model validation, audit & regulatory scrutiny.
Deliver on the operational risk framework for the stress test process.

Stress Testing, as part of Finance, is an independent group function responsible for projecting the financials and capital/liquidity ratios of the entity in question given certain assumptions about Bank's policies and economic variables. The function plays a critical role in strategic business, regulatory and infrastructure initiatives which forms the Bank's future.
Internal Stress Tests: Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process (ICAAP), Management Stress Tests (MST) etc.
- Regulatory Stress Tests: HKMA SDST, MAS Stress Test, BOE Stress Test, BOT Stress Test, Reverse Stress Tests etc.
- Climate Risk Stress Tests: A new area of analysis focussing on the impact of climate change on Banking industry
- Driving 'Digitisation': Responsible for designing, prototyping, and implementing strategic change initiatives to increase business efficiency of stress testing processes.

The Capital Stress testing team forms an integral part of the capital adequacy assessment process. The team conducts balance sheet and income statement analysis to come up with projections for Equity, CET1 and other levels of capital, thereby helping to determine the capital cushion under various scenarios including economically stress ones. At a PLC level, stress testing exercises are conducted for BoE, ICAAP. Stress testing exercise is also carried out or supported for where the Bank has considerable footprint.

Key Responsibilities
The profile requires person should support in Finance data preparation both management and financial view to support to all the Enterprise-wide Stress testing initiatives like implementation of Group Stress Testing Data & Model.
This includes developing and maintaining an efficient and controls design and operation, data management, regulatory compliance and overall documentation. The candidate will be involved in the Bank's stress test exercises such as Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process (ICAAP) and Bank-of-England (BOE).
Finance Data Hub
Finance Hub's primary responsibilities include Data Sourcing and Maintenance of Finance data. This involves a set of data wrangling activities – gathering, transforming, mapping, building business views and automation of sourcing processes that would help enrich the quality of data and make it appropriate for the downstream purposes such as analytics, reporting and visualization.

Job Summary
Assistant Manager will be responsible for execution & result analysis of capital stress testing mode
Responsibilities
Enterprise stress testing comprises the stress tests required by the Group, regions, country and risk management teams, and other senior stakeholders as required to inform Risk Appetite and the stress tests required by the Bank's regulators.
The team has responsibility for the execution of the Bank's stress test exercises internally and to external regulators. It is also the centre of excellence for all strategic changes and operational controls, compliance attestation and policy setting for stress testing in the enterprise. As such, this individual will be working as part of a cohesive "strategy and execution" function. The team sets and runs the production schedule for stress testing.
The intent of the hub is to primarily run central workstream production tasks and sub-tasks during the running of each stress test exercise utilising ITO (Group IT) supported technology and produce management reporting on the same.
The successful candidate for this position will play a key role in executing the stress test models in relation to the Balance Sheet and Capital and Liquidity Requirements in the Bank's stress test exercises.
This will include Resolution Planning, Recovery Planning, Reverse Stress Testing, Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process (ICAAP), and Bank-of-England (BOE) Stress Test for the Group.
In addition, he/she should be able to provide valuable inputs to help identify opportunities to improve on stress testing current processes and own quantitative changes and change requests.
Responsible for the stress testing data sourcing and preparations, methodological calculations including the use of existing infrastructure and technology, producing quantitative charts and packs and other related requirements.
