About Roles and Responsibilities:
About Role:
We are seeking an Supply Chain Manager to lead planning and procurement of electronic components along with QA/QC activities for our high-resolution Earth Observation payloads. This role focuses on sourcing space-grade and COTS components, quality assurance and control of space optical hardware development including managing supplier qualification and ensuring compliance with mission-critical quality and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the hardware development cycle with deep understanding of electronics component lifecycles, screening and qualification processes, and will work closely with engineering and operations teams to ensure quality and timely availability of reliable hardware for our payloads.
Responsibilities:
- Supply Chain
- Manage cross functional objectives including Stores, Logistics, Quality and Engineering.
- Handle end-to-end logistics including documentation for DGFT-SCOMET, ITAR, REACH and customs requirements.
- ERP Systems Setup: Lead the selection and deployment of an open-source ERP system for procurement and parts tracking.
- Co-ordination with Supplier for issues including Quality reports and risk mitigation
- Internal reports to management for Gap analysis and resolution steps,
- Cost Optimization: Support negotiation efforts with the management to ensure cost-effective sourcing while maintaining quality and schedule adherence.
2.Quality Assurance & Quality Control
- Ensure all procured and fabricated components meet company defined standards for space qualification (thermal, vibration, outgassing, EMI/EMC). Previous experience is a bonus.
- Develop and execute protocols for dimensional checks, electrical tests, and certification review of incoming components.
- Conduct supplier quality audits and verify compliance with company defined standards and requirements.
- Maintaining accurate and detailed records of quality assurance activities and findings, and preparing reports for management review.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve quality issues during the production process.
- Analyzing and interpreting data to identify trends and patterns that may impact product quality and reliability.
- Cleanroom & ESD Protocols: Ensure assembly and handling follow cleanroom, contamination control, and electrostatic discharge (ESD) safety requirements.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive quality process improvements using lessons learned from integration and testing campaigns.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Supply Chain/Industrial Engineering.
- 4-6 years of experience in electronics sourcing/supply chain, preferably in aerospace, defense, or high-reliability hardware industries.
Must have:
- Strong understanding of space-grade components, MIL/ESA/ISRO standards, component heritage, and screening/qualification documentation.
- Experience in ERP implementations (ERPNext, Odoo, SAP or equivalent), BOM management, long-lead planning.
- Working knowledge of ITAR, DGFT, and customs documentation for import/export of aerospace-grade hardware.
- Excellent coordination and documentation skills for cross-functional and supplier-facing interactions.
- Experience in Vendor Engagement and familiarity with international procurement and travel as needed.
