Sustainability Business Strategist

Location: Gurgaon, Mumbai, Bangalore

Experience: 3–5 years of relevant post-MBA experience

strategies across critical areas such as circular economy, sustainable technology, clean energy,

ESG, EHS, and responsible supply chains — delivering transformative value at scale.

What You’ll Do

As a Sustainability Strategist, you’ll work with global clients to embed sustainability at the heart

of business strategy. You will:

• Design and implement sustainability-driven business strategies and transformation programs.

• Co-create value-driven models balancing economic, environmental, and social outcomes.

• Develop sustainability roadmaps and implementation plans in areas like net-zero, circularity, clean energy, and SDGs.

• Drive thought leadership and partner with global alliances (UN, WEF, WBCSD, FICCI) to

shape the responsible business agenda.

• Lead conversations on low-carbon transitions , carbon neutrality, and decarbonization

strategies.

• MBA from a Tier-1 institute with 3+ years (post-MBA) experience in strategy consulting,

sustainability, or related fields

• Experience solving complex problems through data-driven insights, financial modeling ,

and stakeholder collaboration

• Proven ability to structure sustainability business cases , deliver client-ready materials,

and drive transformation programs

• Strong communication and storytelling skills — ability to simplify the complex for C-suite

audiences

• Experience working in cross-functional, multicultural environments

• Proficiency in MS PowerPoint, Excel, Word; Power BI / Tableau is a plus

Responsibilities / Expected Deliverables:

• Establishing or Refining overall sustainability strategy, roadmaps, pathways & plans
• Driving focused assessments or initiatives for specific areas like Circularity, Biodiversity, Decarbonization, Climate risks, LCAs, reporting frameworks and regulations, industry specific benchmarking, decarbonization pathways research etc.
• Enable integrated roles, processes, systems and insights towards triple bottom line goals across the enterprise or for specific domains like green finance, sustainable supply chains, energy transition
• Building cross industry thought leadership insights for focus areas, in terms of point of views, research papers, PoCs, oversight for specific digital solutions etc.
• Influence and drive change towards target operating model as per sustainability roadmap and plans
• Oversight for selection and deployment of technology enablement such as data, systems/ tools.

Desired Competencies (Technical/Behavioral Competency):

Must-Have**

1. Consulting & Coaching mindset
2. Advisory experience in areas such as double materiality, strategy validation, climate risk modelling, carbon markets, pathways assessments, energy transition, decarbonization etc.
3. Experience with leveraging data to build insights for specific industries/ domains.
4. Awareness of reporting frameworks and specific industries and focus areas like circularity/ climate/ decarbonization etc.
5. Experience of driving transformation programs with digital enablement
6. Proficiency in Microsoft 365 tools suite.
7. Excellent communication skills, storytelling, business problem identification and framing skills

Good-to-Have
