Lecturer, Jindal School of Environment & Sustainability (JSES)
The Jindal School of Environment & Sustainability (JSES), O.P. Jindal Global University, invites motivated early-career professionals and academics with a passion for teaching, developing new academic programmes and research to join our team from the Spring 2026 semester.
Positions:
We are hiring at the level of Lecturer with specialization in the following areas:
- GIS and Remote Sensing/Climate Modelling/ AI and Machine Learning
- Green Finance/Climate Finance/Environmental Economic
Job description:
1. Instructing courses both online and offline.
2. Plan, coordinate, and instruct academic programmes in adherence with the best
global pedagogical practices.
3. Take an active role in Outreach and Admissions, Student Affairs and Career Service administrative portfolios.
4. Actively participate in school’s administrative function as allocated by Dean, JSES.
5. Coordinate and organize field visits for students.
6. Develop, coordinate and execute summer and winter field programme(s).
6. Flexible to independently conduct practical/practicum and skill-based courses.
7. Take active role in coordination and recording of online courses/modules/programme(s).
8. Willing to work in a team with a ‘solution-oriented’ mindset.
The appointee(s) will report to the Dean JSES.
Essential Qualifications : ( Eligibility Criteria)
1: Undergraduate Qualification :
A Bachelor’s degree in Arts, Science, Technology, or Engineering with at least 60% marks (or equivalent grade/GPA).
2: Postgraduate Qualification :
A Master’s degree in Arts, Science, Technology, or Engineering in disciplines related to Environment and Sustainable Development , with first class (minimum 60%) marks or equivalent grade/GPA.
3: National Eligibility :
Must have qualified UGC NET / CSIR NET or any equivalent national-level eligibility test .
4: Advanced Qualification / Professional Experience :
Possession of a PhD or M.Phil. from a QS Top 500 ranked institution or an Institute of National Importance (India) or an Institution of Eminence (IOE, India) . Candidates who have submitted their Ph.D. thesis and is awaiting review result, is also eligible.
Candidates fulfilling this criterion will be exempted from Point 3.
5: Alternative Eligibility (Experience Route):
A minimum of 03 years of relevant industrial experience or work experience with reputed global Environmental/Sustainability Think Tanks, NGOs, UN organizations .
Candidates fulfilling this criterion will be exempted from Point 3 and 4.
(The recruitment/screening committee reserves the right to determine the equivalence of such professional experience vis-à-vis the academic qualifications outlined in Points 3 and 4.)
6: Technical/Operational Experience :
Preference will be given to candidates with experience in video content creation , and/or management of online and distance learning programmes .
7: Pedagogical Awareness :
Candidates must be familiar with global higher education learning outcome frameworks and contemporary teaching-learning practices.
8: Communication Skills :
Candidates should demonstrate strong communication skills and fluency in English.
Desired
1: Research output :
Preference will be given to candidates with high-quality, peer-reviewed SCOPUS-indexed publications and/or Patent(s) in the following areas:
(a) GIS & Remote Sensing, Climate Modelling, Artificial Intelligence, or Machine Learning;
(b) Green Finance, Climate Finance, or Environmental Economics.
Applicants must include their SCOPUS Author ID link or proof of patent acceptance in the application.
Note: The recruitment committee values research quality, ethical authorship, and genuine contribution over publication and/or citation count. Any evidence of unethical publication practices will result in disqualification. The decision of recruitment committee will be final in this regard.
2: Postdoctoral / Research Experience :
Approximately one year of postdoctoral or post-graduate research experience in the above-mentioned domains, at institution ranked within the QS/THE (Top 500) or Institute of National Importance (India) or Institution of Eminence (IOE, India) , is desirable.
