THE ROLE:

AMD is looking for an influential software engineer who is passionate about improving the performance of key applications and benchmarks .  You will be a member of a core team of incredibly talented industry specialists and will work with the very latest hardware and software technology. You will be building the product quality verification portfolio for the industry leading Network Infrastructure accelerators.

THE PERSON:

The ideal candidate should be passionate about software engineering and possess leadership skills to drive sophisticated issues to resolution. Able to communicate effectively and work optimally with different teams across AMD.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Active contribution to the day-to-day activities of the System Test in an Agile environment
• Write Test plans and review it with all stakeholders to cover the scenarios comprehensively and execute efficiently.
• Build maintainable, high quality and effective automated test scripts
• Review and triage test failures and verify fixes
• Help customer reported issues by reproducing the issue locally, work with peer teams for faster resolution
• Stay informed of software and hardware trends and innovations, especially pertaining to networking and accelerators
• Debugging complex technical issues and collaborate with peer teams
• Develop technical relationships with peers and partners

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• 5+ years of experience in Networking Testing and Automation roles.
• Proficiency in writing Automation Scripts using Python
• Experience in various test tools, performance testing tools such as Ixia, etc.,
• Expert in networking technology in Routing and Switching, Microsegmentation, VXLAN, etc.,
• Prior experience in Cloud, Security, Data Center technologies is an added advantage
• Strong troubleshooting skills
• Knowledge of operating systems, kernel mode programming, device drivers, and related technologies and architectures
• Good interpersonal skills and effective communication
• Ability to write high quality automation code with a keen attention to detail
• Experience in administration of Linux operating system, VMware ESX, Windows Server
• Experience with software development processes and tools such as debuggers, source code control systems (GitHub) and profilers is a plus
• Effective communication and problem-solving skills
• Motivating leader with good interpersonal skills

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

• Bachelor s or Masters degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent

Job Description

• Preparation of Protection SLDs, Trip matrix, interlocking logics etc. as per customer specification/requirements.
• Design of Control & Protection Panels for all voltage levels system, should have knowledge of various bus arrangements.
• Control and protection schematic preparation for various power system equipment i.e. Generator, Line, Transformer, Reactor, Busbar etc.
• Solid understanding of substation Automation System and SCADA applications, Communication protocols and integration of IEDs from different Vendors like Siemens, GE, ALSTOM
• Preparation of FAT/SAT/GTP/TTR/FDS/HEAT LOAD documents.
• Preparation of CRP interfacing drawings.
• Preparation of various types of System Architecture based on system requirements.
• Knowledge on different serial and ethernet based protocol used in Substation Automation System.
• Should have knowledge on Master Slave and client server philosophy, IEC61850 protocol and Computer networking.
• Should have knowledge of networking topologies (Ring, HSR, PRP etc.)
• Discussion with customer for drawing approval/resolution of query.
• Initiating loadings to factory for material procurement, fabrication and wiring of the systems under scope.
• Support to Sales/testing/commissioning team.
• Preparation and validation of BOM, GA and schematics.

• B.Tech /B.E in Electrical/Electronics Engineering.
• 6-8 years of relevant experience.

• Shall have good knowledge of computers, especially Excel, Word, Power point etc.
• E Base software knowledge will be added advantage.

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Build Engineer to join our team. The Build Engineer will play a critical role in streamlining and optimizing our software build, integration, and deployment processes. This role involves collaborating with teams, ensuring the delivery of reliable and high-quality build artifacts and supporting our development and release workflows.

• Collaborate closely with development teams to understand build and packaging requirements for new projects or features.
• Assess, configure, and upgrade build tools to enhance efficiency, align with industry best practices, and support evolving project needs.
• Ensure that compilers are always up-to-date, compatible with current software projects, and optimized for performance.
• Regularly update and integrate third-party libraries, dependencies, or frameworks to ensure compatibility, security, and functionality.
• Create and maintain documentation for build processes, workflows, and development tooling to ensure knowledge transfer and standardization.
• Continuously optimize build pipelines and infrastructure to support increasing workloads as the team scales.

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
• 5+ years of professional experience as a Build Engineer
• Expert knowledge of build tools such as CMake, Make, Bazel, or similar.
• Deep knowledge of Linux and system administration tools and bash scripting
• Working knowledge of Git and Docker with familiarity in managing repositories and containerization workflows.
• Experience with CI systems such as Jenkins, GitHub actions or similar
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., C++, Python, Java) and comfortable with scripting languages for automation tasks; Go programming experience is a plus.
• Familiarity with cloud-based services and infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
• Fluent in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills to work with international teams.

A Snapshot of Your Day

As a member of an international product development team working on Siemens TIA or PCS7 Automation and HMI systems for DC or AC distribution solutions, your tasks would include developing comprehensive system integration test strategies including test criteria identification, writing, execution of test cases and user stories involving a combination of software, hardware and primary electrical equipment (such as generators, switchboards, BESS, drives etc.). Differentiation between new feature tests and repetitive regression tests is key for an efficient test environment. Automation of regression tests is part of the day-to-day business. The test results will be documented in a clearly arranged test report to document the status of the development results.
