  • Troubleshoot and resolve backup and recovery-related issues promptly
  • Ensure all backup and recovery processes meet industry standards and regulatory requirements
  • Sound knowledge and practical approach towards ITIL concepts, especially Incident Management, Change Management and Problem Management
  • Strong understanding of host systems and their integration with backup solutions like Windows, Linux, UNIX, AIX and ESX
  • 12x7 operations support and on-call support responsibilities
  • Develop Backup Strategies: Design and implement robust backup solutions to safeguard data.
  • Disaster Recovery: Create and update disaster recovery plans to minimize data loss and downtime.
  • Documentation: Keep detailed records of backup configurations, procedures, and recovery plans.
  • Vendor Management: Coordinate with vendors to ensure the timely maintenance of backup hardware and software.
  • Audit and Reporting: Conduct regular audits of backup systems and generate reports on backup status, performance, and compliance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree highly preferred
  • 5-14 years of experience in backup and recovery engineering.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in backup technologies (Rubrik, DELL Data Domain, Avamar, Networker & IBOX), disaster recovery tools, and data protection technologies.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to system maintenance and upgrades.
