Health Systems Director - Central (Field-Based)

Summary: 

The Health Systems Director is a key leadership position within Sun’s Commercial business. This role will be responsible for strategically leading a regional team dedicated to supporting the Nation’s leading IDN’s. The position is responsible for Strategic Planning and Tactical Sales Execution directed toward the Oncology, Immunology, and Dermatology therapeutic departments as well as the administrative, Pharmacy, and C-Suite groups. In addition, they will be responsible for developing strategies to drive Sun brand performance across Hospital & Channel accounts (IDNs, standalone hospitals, and organized customer accounts). Collaborate with cross-functional brand team and critical business partners to develop and execute national sales and marketing strategies and tactics for the portfolio to exceed revenue expectations across brands. This position is a field based position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate a firm grasp of industry trends, understand market conditions, and develop strategies to stay ahead of the competition. They will capitalize on opportunities within the dynamic marketplace. This role will make the customer central to all thinking for self and the team. Works with Marketing / Brand teams and strategic partners to develop a plan of action that optimizes promotional impact and takes advantage of current and future market opportunities. 
  •  Work to translate brand strategies into actionable tactics for the health system managers and develop standards across regions to measure success. They will work with Commercial Sales leadership and key field business partners / home office partners to develop regional field business plans that will meet or exceed brand objectives.
  • Collaborate with business partners to develop an overarching health system strategy, communicate and set account objectives, and develop Management by Objective (MBO) goals and a sales incentive plan. This individual will work cross-functionally to ensure comprehensive organizational approach to account management.
  • Deliver business results through alignment with brand strategies and in accordance with SUN Compliance guidelines. They will analyze sales and operations data to monitor sales progress and develop corrective plans to improve sales force effectiveness/efficiency. The role will analyze financial metrics of sales organization effectiveness, including budgeting, allocation/deployment of resources, return on investment strategies, etc. 
  • Create a high-performance work environment in which they build accountability at all levels of the organization through inclusion, empowerment, involvement, and collaboration. In alignment with our Company policies, the Sr. Director of Health Systems will drive efforts in attracting, developing/advancing, and retaining talent of all backgrounds and experience, contributing to an inclusive environment and workplace. It will provide leadership for field management to ensure the recruitment, retention, and development of a diverse pool of talent at all levels of sales management. 
  • Position will appropriately support complex business conversations around ASP, Buy and Bill process, Class of trade, and contracting where applicable.
  • Ensure field force has completed appropriate training to ensure compliance to Sun training standards.
  • Education and Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's Degree Required, Higher Education preferred, I.E. MBA
  • Extensive health care or related experience required.
  • Minimum 10 years of diverse cross-functional experience in key Commercial/Sales Leadership roles (ex. Sales, Marketing, Strategic Marketing, Payer/Access experience, Analytics, International experience, NBD) including at least four years Marketing and/or Strategic Marketing experience.
  • Minimum of 4 years of direct people management/leadership experience, including prior experience leading management level teams; Proven ability to lead, develop, coach and engage and inspire high performing, diverse teams.
  • Experience working in Integrated Delivery Networks/Health Systems, Institutions, GPOs, and/or Government/Federal accounts.
  • Very strong demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated a high level of commercial capabilities and track record of success in prior commercial roles. Ability to maximize business opportunities and insights. Strong ability to innovate, collaborate, and deliver results.
  • Preferences:

  • Prior experience in Sales as either a professional sales representative, District Manager, or Regional Business Director strongly preferred.

The Finance Automation COE team is responsible for identifying and delivering results on highly critical projects and initiatives leveraging process automation and the use of advanced technologies.

    We are looking for someone who is collaborative and passionate about transforming processes using new and emerging technologies and the drive to solve difficult business issues.

    This position is responsible for leading and motivating a diverse team of India-based automation specialists accountable for delivering against a pipeline of process improvements that have been identified from the Finance Organization. Responsibilities include leading the assessment of opportunities, aligning with Process Owners and driving results using existing and new capabilities, while ensuring that all compliance, audit and legal requirements are adhered to. This position is also responsible for developing a collaborative and effective business relationship with various business and technical partners and will be tasked with working with partners across all Finance functions to support the implementation of the organizations automation goals. A strong focus on process optimization Finance Domain knowledge and driving results is required.

    Key Accountabilities:

  • Enhance the process for identifying, analyzing, and prioritizing new process opportunities, and assessing automation feasibility
  • Management of Finance automation roadmap, driving accountability across stakeholders in Technology and Finance functions (Controllership, Business CFO, Corporate Planning, Tax and Treasury), from ideation through implementation
  • Educating stakeholders across Finance on automation capabilities and future opportunities
  • Collaborate and discuss strategy with Enterprise Process Automation groups for standardization and applicability of solutions
  • Implementing Process Automation communication plan to ensure all requestors/stakeholders are updated on status
  • Responsible for maintaining automation solution documentation including all associated system controls
  • Problem solving issues that arise during development, collaborating with stakeholders to resolve, and providing timely responses and solutions as required
  • Envision and define the evolving future state of Finance process automation products and services, focusing on deployments that deliver strong business value in the shortest amount of time
  • Optimize delivery by leveraging the existing suite of tools available including learning from prior deployments
  • Driving both quantitative and qualitative benefit by eliminating repetitive manual processes and repurpose skilled resources across the Finance organization
  • Partner with the Technologies organization on enhancements to various enterprise capabilities, Oracle EBS (GL, SL. HFR. HFM. DRM), eDocumentum, Enterprise Balance & Control Application, IRIS Reconciliations, various others.

  • Minimum Qualifications

  • Proven experience leading a local team with global responsibilities
  • Strong working knowledge of automation capabilities and techniques, including OCR, RPA, NLP, NLG, Machine Learning and Workflow based logic
  • 5+ years of substantial business process improvement experience
  • Proven ability to influence without authority working with difficult stakeholders
  • Proven ability to work independently with ambiguity driving technical implementations
  • Demonstrated strategic thought leadership; ability to assess business objectives/strategies and define/implement appropriate strategies
  • Innovative mindset with a track record in the successful delivery and support of improving existing processes with the use of technology
