**What will you do:**
+ **Automation and reduce toils** - Create sustainable systems and services through automation. Automate operational mundane jobs, health checks, release and deployments. Measure and optimize system performance and innovate for continuous improvement
+ **Observability -** Run the production environment by monitoring availability and taking a holistic view of system health. Use monitoring systems for alerting and dashboards
+ **Process reengineering** - Mapping the business process / customer journey maps to find reliability gaps. Gather and analyze metrics from operating systems and applications to assist in performance tuning and fault finding.
+ **Development Operations partnership** - Participate in system design consulting, platform management, and capacity planning.
+ **Documentation -** Drive operations teams on documentation SOP's, Configurations and infrastructure maps, knowledge articles, known errors resolution, etc
+ **Chaos engineering and Testing** - Design Chaos engineering plans and test all applications components and Infrastructure. Document the plans to address the gaps
+ **KPI's and Error budget** - Measure the availability and downtime along with error budgets and develop strategies to maximize availability.
**What you will need to have:**
+ Bachelor's degree in computer science or related technical field and/or 7+ years of relevant work experience
+ 12+ years of relevant work experience in **Site reliability engineering (SRE)** in Fintech / product organization.
+ 10+ years of experience in **automation of toils** working with **Python or Java, Ansible, Powershell** , etc
+ 10+ years of experience in **Observability and monitoring tools** working with Dynatrace, Splunk, Moogsoft, Grafana, etc
+ Experience in managing **CI/CD pipelines and automation** (GITLAB, Harness, Nexus, Terraform, SonarQube, etc)
+ Experience in **SDLC** including associated deployment methodologies, Onboarding, QA processes, and performance tuning efforts and Source Code Management with GitLab/Github.
+ Strong problem-solving skills and critical thinking to analyze root causes, implement solutions, and prevent future disruptions proactively. Effective communication is also the key for SREs to collaborate with cross-functional teams, share knowledge, and address incidents promptly.

Leads a team of engineers responsible for delivering Systems engineering, Global Product Support (GPS) which delivers installation procedures & supports resolution of customer escalations, and Product Safety engineering solutions. This role is part of Global Products Engineering (GPE) team with Lam India Global Hardware Technology (LIGHT) group.

Advisor, Systems Engineering

As an OpenShift Platform Engineer, your primary responsibility will be to design, deploy, and maintain containerized OpenShift platform. You will work with cross-functional teams to ensure that applications and systems are scalable, reliable, and secure.

Design, develop, and maintain a robust, scalable, and secure internal Kubernetes/Container platform that supports the deployment, scaling, and management of containerized applications.

Develop and maintain automation scripts, tools, and documentation to streamline deployment and management processes.

Ensure platform stability and performance by proactively monitoring system metrics, troubleshooting issues, and optimizing resources.

Implement observability solutions, such as monitoring, logging, and tracing tools, to gain valuable insights into platform performance and application behavior.

Provide technical guidance and support to development teams, helping them adopt the Kubernetes platform and improve their application deployment and management capabilities.

You will be on call on rotation basis and expected to handle unexpected incidents.

This will involve creating and managing Kubernetes objects, configuring networking, and ensuring high availability.

Working with cross-functional teams: You will collaborate with developers, architects, and project managers to ensure that solutions are delivered on time, within budget, and meet business requirements.

Ensuring security and compliance: You will be responsible for ensuring that solutions are secure and compliant with industry standards and regulations.

This will involve implementing security controls, performing vulnerability assessments, and creating documentation.

Continuously learning and improving: You will stay up to date with OpenShift services and best practices. You will be responsible for maintaining the container platform which consists of other Container Technologies like Tanzu Application Services, Tanzu Kubernetes Grid, AKS etc., and continuously improve your skills and knowledge through training and certification programs.

Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to Kubernetes, containerization, and observability to drive continuous improvement and innovation within the platform.

What you will need to have:

At least 4 years of experience in OpenShift Engineering including some public cloud experience.

Experience in platform engineering, infrastructure automation, SRE, or a similar role.

Understanding of Kubernetes architecture, concepts, and components, with hands-on experience in building and managing Kubernetes platforms in production environments.

End-to-end Implementation of the Kubernetes architecture - installation, configuration, hardening, networking, etc.

Proficiency in a procedural or scripting programming language (examples: python, Go)

Experienced with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery principles (examples: Github Actions, Concourse, ArgoCD, Jenkins).

Experience designing and deploying containerized applications on Kubernetes.

Experience with automation tools, such as Helm, Terraform, Ansible and Azure DevOps.

Understanding of security and compliance best practices.

Familiarity with observability best practices and tools, such as Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK Stack.

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

This will involve implementing security controls, performing vulnerability assessments, and creating documentation.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.

Kubernetes certifications are desirable (e.g. Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD)).

Experience with service mesh technologies (e.g., Istio or Linkerd).

What would be great to have:

 • TAS (Tanzu Application Service), Pivotal Cloud Foundry, AKS, NSX, NSX-T experience a plus

 • Automation/Continuous Integration (concourse, Salt, Fabric, Jenkins, Octopus Deploy, etc.)

•Demonstrated competency in a programming/scripting Language, with a strong preference for Go experience and Python.

•Experience designing and implementing Infrastructure as code API’s using interface definition tools like Swagger

•Strong understanding of Virtual computing environments and concepts such as Hypervisors and load balancing concepts.

•Demonstrated understanding of, And preferably hands-on experience, with Identity management, Access Management, Certificate management.

•Experience designing and implementing containerized infrastructure logging and observability tools such as Splunk, Fluentd/Fluentbit, Prometheus/Grafana/Alert manager Suite, Wavefront, APPD.

•Experience with .net core and .net framework

•Experience with Open policy Agents or other policy engines.
