Job Description

The Director for Web Series & Short Films is responsible for shaping the creative vision and overseeing the entire production process of web-based series and short film projects. The Director works closely with writers, producers, actors, and crew to ensure that each project is aligned with the intended narrative, style, and quality. This role requires creative vision, strong leadership, and a deep understanding of visual storytelling techniques.

Key Responsibilities

  • Creative Vision and Conceptualization:
  • Collaborate with writers and producers to develop the creative direction and visual style for each project.
  • Interpret scripts and contribute to story development, pacing, character arcs, and tone to achieve the desired storytelling goals.
  • Ensure each episode or short film maintains consistency in theme, style, and character development.
  • Casting and Actor Direction:
  • Conduct auditions and select talent that aligns with character descriptions and story requirements.
  • Work closely with actors to guide performance quality, ensuring authenticity, emotional depth, and character alignment.
  • Provide clear direction and support to help actors develop their characters and deliver consistent performances.
  • Production Planning and Coordination:
  • Oversee pre-production activities, including shot lists, location scouting, and creating storyboards with the cinematographer.
  • Collaborate with the production team to establish shooting schedules, budgets, and resource requirements.
  • Ensure production timelines are followed, adapting plans when necessary to address unforeseen challenges.
  • On-Set Leadership and Direction:
  • Lead the production crew during filming, ensuring that all shots align with the creative vision.
  • Maintain clear communication with the production team, actors, and crew to ensure a cohesive workflow.
  • Resolve any on-set challenges or conflicts, making quick and effective decisions to keep production on track.
  • Post-Production Oversight:
  • Work closely with editors, sound designers, and colorists to achieve the desired tone, pacing, and style in post-production.
  • Provide feedback during editing sessions, selecting the best takes and ensuring continuity and visual coherence.
  • Collaborate on music and sound design, ensuring it complements the narrative and enhances emotional impact.
  • Quality Control and Project Delivery:
  • Review final cuts to ensure that each project meets quality standards and aligns with the original creative vision.
  • Address any remaining visual, audio, or continuity issues before final delivery.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget constraints.

millions of demand forecasts every day
to optimize the global e-commerce supply chain. As our Time Series Forecasting Engineer, you won't just be building models; you'll be engineering the core intelligence of a system that operates at a massive scale. You will be responsible for the performance, accuracy, and scalability of the algorithms that form the backbone of our product. This is a unique opportunity to make a significant impact in a high-volume, production environment, working across both
Python and R
to solve complex forecasting challenges.

This is what you'll be doing

  • Architect, enhance, and maintain our forecasting systems, working across both our Python and R codebases to deliver robust, scalable solutions.
  • Take ownership of improving the accuracy and performance of models that are already running on millions of time series daily.
  • Research, prototype, and implement next-generation forecasting algorithms (from statistical methods to ML/deep learning) capable of performing on large-scale datasets.
  • Enhance and refactor our existing forecasting models in R while leading the development of new
  • Develop and own the MLOps pipelines for our forecasting models, including automated training, deployment, A/B testing, and monitoring for performance at scale.
  • Collaborate with Backend Engineers and Data Scientists to ensure our forecasting engine is seamlessly and efficiently integrated into our product.

This is who we're looking for

  • You have 3–6 years of professional experience building and deploying machine learning models in a high-volume production environment, with a strong focus on time series forecasting.
  • Proven expertise in both Python and/or R
    for production-level data science. You are an expert in at least one, with professional, hands-on experience in the other.
  • Python:
    pandas, scikit-learn, LightGBM/XGBoost, etc.
  • R:
    dplyr, , forecast/fable, tidymodels, etc.
  • Demonstrated experience working with
    large-scale data
    and building high-performance, production-grade ML systems.
  • Deep theoretical and practical understanding of time series analysis, from classical statistical models (ARIMA, ETS) to modern machine learning techniques.
  • Hands-on experience with software engineering best practices and tools, including Git, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong experience with SQL for complex data extraction and analysis.
  • You are a pragmatic problem-solver, driven by the challenge of optimizing a complex system and delivering measurable business impact.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with probabilistic forecasting and inventory optimization techniques.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure) and MLOps tools (e.g., MLflow, Kubeflow).
  • Experience with large-scale data processing tools (e.g., Spark, Dask).
  • Prior experience in a SaaS, e-commerce, or supply chain tech company.
