You’ll help solve complex problems by using your skills in:
- Ensuring clients meet their tax obligations by preparing and reviewing tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with current regulations.
- Advising clients on tax-efficient strategies to optimize their tax positions, including succession planning, mergers and acquisitions, and reorganization.
- Supporting clients through ATO review or audit programs.
- Accounting and and financial statements (CA or CPA is advantageous)
- Tax compliance and advisory for private businesses
- Ability to analyse complex financial data and tax issues and experience with tax filings and ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements
- Digital tools and platforms used in tax preparation and financial reporting
- Client engagement and managing client needs and expectations
- Mentoring and supporting junior staff; fostering a collaborative and high-performance team environment.
- Identifying potential tax risks and developing strategies to mitigate them to protect our clients' interests.
- Providing updates to clients on tax-related issues, helping them stay informed about changes in tax legislation.
- Providing tax compliance, tax planning and tax advisory services for large client groups with multiple types of entities including trusts, companies, partnership and individuals;

Working with clients across a wide range of industries (financial services, tech, manufacturing, consumer, retail) through all stages of their business life cycle including; growth and succession/exit, developing solutions for the complex problems that arise in each stage.
Contributing your expertise to deliver complex corporate tax compliance and consulting advice, domestic tax issues including consolidation, restructuring advice, involvement in M&A transactions and ATO engagements.
Driving client growth by delivering exceptional service and identifying opportunities for additional services and solutions.
Mentoring junior onshore staff and investing in their career development.

About the Avaya's Tax Team
Avaya’s tax team is based in the USA (NJ), UK, and India, with an excellent reputation across the organization. The tax team works closely with the controllership team, as well as other core functions. As part of a small & friendly tax team, you will have the ability to ‘make a difference’ and support the business to enable execution of Avaya’s strategic growth plans.
About the Role
This is an integral role, with the key focus on US corporate income tax matters, including US federal and state tax compliance and US GAAP tax reporting.
About the responsibilities
US Corporate Income Tax Compliance (60%)
• Aggregation of data / inputs required for annual US corporate income tax compliance
• Prepare US federal pro-forma tax returns in Corptax, as well as all applicable supporting workpapers
• Timely preparation of US federal forms/attachments
• Review of certain US International forms prepared by advisors
• Preparation of US State tax apportionment
• Preparation of certain US state/locality returns in Corptax
• Review of certain US State returns prepared by advisors
• Coordinate filing of tax US corporate income tax returns
• Prepare quarterly US federal & state estimates and extensions
• Assist with any information requests as relates to any US federal or state income tax audits.
• Investigate and resolve income tax notices.
• Coordinate tax payments on behalf of the Avaya tax department.
• Manage the annual corporate income tax filing calender
US GAAP Tax Reporting (30%)
• Assist with quarterly and annual US GAAP income tax provision
• Prepare US federal book-tax difference calculations
• Prepare US deferred tax asset/liability work papers and balances.
• Preparation of US state reporting workpapers
• Prepare the Company’s Income Tax account reconciliations on a quarterly basis
• Manage the quarterly income tax reporting calender
• Assist with the consolidation of the global tax provision, including non US tax provision, FIN 48s etc
• Assist with documentation of applicable internal tax controls.
Other matters (10%)
• Assist with other ad-hoc matters, including; cash tax management, business support, corporate project support.
• Drive efficiency and simplicity into the Avaya tax function, including through standardization, simplification, & documentation of processes and utilization of technology
• Liaise with external tax advisors on relevant matters.
About You
The successful candidate must be inquisitive, enthusiastic, enjoy working hard and being continually challenged, demonstrate sound judgment and have the ability to collaborate cross-functionally with people at all levels inside and outside Avaya. The ideal candidate will already have a strong background in US tax compliance and US GAAP. The candidate also needs to have flexibility in order to have some work time overlap with UK and New Jersey tax team members

Your Focus
As a part of our India Tax Team, you will be responsible to supervise and achieve seamless service delivery of multi-regional direct tax compliance operations of tax teams operating from Shared Services Center India - Hyderabad. You should be capable of independently supporting the India Direct Tax Compliance & India TP Compliance and ideally also have experience with Direct tax compliance matters in Asia Pacific English speaking countries.
The role will report to Country Tax Head – India.
How you will contribute
• Prepare and supervise compliance operations to ensure timely and accurate delivery of IFF’s tax obligation.
• Accountable to define, execute and monitor wide varieties of process KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) and KSFs (Key Success Factors).
• Internal controls frame work design/execution/review to ensure fully compliant controlled environment to successfully get through internal/external/departmental audits/assessments.
• Depth knowledge on Direct Tax Compliance and TP Compliance which includes:
o Tax Accounting and provisioning.
o Annual Income Tax Computations.
o Annual Income Tax Returns Preparation & Filing.
o Collating information to defend Income Tax Assessments.
o Collating information to defend Transfer Pricing Assessments.
o Review & assist in finalisation of Tax Audit Reports in Form-3CD.
o Review & assist in finalisation of TP Certification in Form – 3CEB.
o Maintain litigation tracker and assessment tracker.
• Knowledge and experience with other Asia Pacific tax regimes would be advantageous.
• Drive continuous and long-term improvements in quality and productivity of the team’s delivery.
• Be a strategic thinker, honest, openminded, transparent and be able to deal with high level of ambiguity.
• Develop and publish robust metrics that communicate the performance of processes/People across multiple dimensions.
