Amazon's Canada Indirect Tax team is looking for a Tax Manager to spearhead automation and process improvements across audit and planning operations. This strategic role will report directly to the Head of Canada Indirect Tax while working closely with the Canada Indirect Tax Audit lead.
The position focuses on three core areas: designing and implementing automated solutions, preparing and reconciling complex data and information requests, and providing critical operational support to the Head of Canada Indirect Tax.
The selected candidate will also support business launches and planning initiatives, including helping prepare tax requirements documentation, UAT testing support, and launch management assistance.
The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of 5 years of audit and/or compliance experience in indirect taxes, particularly GST/VAT and Sales and Use taxes, along with demonstrated expertise in leveraging generative AI tools and designing and implementing SOPs.
Key job responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day support to Canadian indirect tax audit and planning teams and develop strategies for handling audit and other indirect tax related queries in a creative, efficient, and business-centric way
- Develop SOPs related to audit processes and indirect tax planning
- Retrieve, review, and prepare data and other responses related to Canadian indirect tax audits
- Support the drafting of Tax Requirements Documents related to new business launches or legislative impacts
- Support UAT testing
- Support review of product taxability and customer exemptions and other key self-audit activities
- Research and implement ways to leverage GenAI and other automated solutions to improve efficiency

The Canada Indirect Tax team supports all businesses across Amazon with launching new features and products. We also handle all Canadian indirect tax audits for all Amazon businesses.

Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
