Responsible for activities related to the Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) Installation & Commissioning on customer site, from site mobilization, through civil, erection and commissioning work, as well as management activities related to this scope. Accountable for the quality of own work. Subject to direct operations supervision/prescribed work instructions/systems checking. Executes within a well-defined operations framework. There is generally a step by step sequence of standard operational tasks which need to be followed to achieve an end result.
**Job Description**
**Roles and Responsibilities**
+ Strong experience on Installation Testing and Commissioning of GIS Substation from 66kV to 765KV.
+ Candidate must take full ownership of site execution part from Project kick till successful site commissioning, handover and warranty phase. Within the limits of Budget, time, scope while quality.
+ Co-Ordination Between Design and Project Team
+ Must update Daily and weekly progress report to Project Team and Operations Manager.
+ Must be capable of producing project planning, project documentation like Survey report, Method Statement & Risk Assessment, LCC Schematics, Single line diagram, Site Format and Site acceptance Test etc.
+ site team management and resources allocation as per project requirement
+ Must be capable of delivering Customer Site Training
+ Contractor / team Management at site.
+ Candidate must be capable of providing Technical Advice to project and tendering team based on the experience and subject matter expertise on GIS from 66kV to 765KV.
+ Must possess sound knowledge on Environment Health & Safety requirements for GIS related works and substations.
+ Must have sound knowledge of working in live substation, permit to work process, and equipment with Lock out tag out process.
+ All on site life extensions, repairs and inspection-related service activities able to be performed at customer site.
+ Broadening knowledge of own technical discipline to execute policy/strategy. May include support roles with specialized technical field of knowledge; still acquiring higher level knowledge and skills.
+ Basic understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. Good understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
+ May have some autonomy to make decisions within a defined framework. Resolves issues in situations that require good technical knowledge and judgment within established procedures. Consults more senior team members for issues outside of defined instructions/parameters.
+ A job at this level requires good interpersonal skills and may be required to lead a junior team. For customer facing roles, develops strong customer relationships and serves as the interface between customer and GE. Explains technical information to others. **Required Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's degree **/** Diploma in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university or college ( or a high school diploma with relevant experience).
+ With at least 3-8 years of experience in Power Transmission and Distribution industry having good hands on experience on Installation, Testing & Commissioning of Gas insulated switchgear up to 765kV.
+ Must be good in English.
+ Moderate travelling within the country and consider 25% travelling outside country.
+ **Desired Characteristics**
+ Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
+ Candidate must be able to work under multi cultural environment with excellent skill on time management and to cater parallel tasks.
+ Proficient in Microsoft office (MS Office) and other tools for preparing documents and reports.
