We are looking for a Technical Assistant with the following criteria.
Education & Relevant Experience : Engineering Graduate (Marine/Mechanical)
Work experience : 3+ years of experience
Job Responsibilities
- MIS - Follow ups to ensure all reports from ships are sent on time.
- Invoice Entry - Settlement of repair invoices are properly entered into system.
- Outstanding defect lists of all vessels are properly maintained.
- Following up with the vessels for defect rectification.
- Budgeting - Provide assistance during budget preparation
- To collate PMS related data from the Mailboxes, PMS System
- To collate SIRE Status, PSC Status of the Vessels
- To collate all the Vessel Inspection Reports and summarize the same
- To process all invoices are received within stipulated time . Work done reports from ship to be filed immediately after completion of job.
- To ensure timely uploads of LO & FO samples for analysis and follow up, for receiving the analysis reports on a timely basis.
- Overdue matrix to be monitored on weekly basis and KPI of 2% to be maintained.
- Monitoring the Survey status and follow up with Vessels and Technical Superintendent
- Support Superintendents in dry-dock & repair projects, incl. defect list preparation, yard comparison, budgeting, repair follow up & completion, final budgeting and payments. Previous docking experience will be preferred
- Proficiency in SAP system will be preferred
- Aware of a global vendor database for different service types.
- Good negotiation skills
- Awareness of different websites of class societies, survey bookings.
- Awareness of vessel certificates and renewal process prior expiration.
Knowledge and Skills : Tech savvy, good communication skills (oral & written), good negotiation skills.

The Role
As a Technical Assistant, you will provide assistance to our team of qualified NDT Technicians and Engineers to test and investigate various items of plant and equipment to ensure reliability and integrity. This role is a casual position at various major Power Station outages within the Lake Macquarie and Hunter Valley, NSW region with potential for ongoing project / shutdown opportunities for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Documenting findings in a clear and concise format following instruction work packs
- Conduct replications of metallic surfaces in accordance with SRG procedures
The successful applicant will ideally have:
- Hold an industry White Card
- Working at Height and Confined Spaces (advantage)
- Experience working in mining, industrial or power settings (advantage)
- Previous experience within Manufacturing, Mechanical and Automotive trades (desirable)
- A high attention to detail, ability to follow direction and adhere to Work Health and Safety regulations
