Join our dynamic team as a Technical Communication Specialist, where you'll play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining comprehensive information products that support our product lifecycle, from deployment through maintenance. This position involves close collaboration within our technical communications team to ensure our documentation standards are second to none, utilizing a variety of tools and methodologies to communicate complex information clearly and effectively. We value creativity and efficiency in producing operation, maintenance, and training materials, among others, to meet the diverse needs of our users.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reauthor and proofread engineering technical documents to clarify product functionality and reduce complexity. li>Deliver controlled language documentation, including Simplified Technical English and Plain English, to diverse audiences.
- Act as an editor / proofreader in peer review sessions to ensure content accuracy and consistency.
- Enhance technical communication processes and tools (e.g., style guides, templates) through continuous improvement efforts.
- Apply topic-based, single-sourcing methodologies for developing and maintaining various technical manuals and guides.
Must-Have Skills:
- Exceptional ability in written communication and editing.
- Proficient in using Content Management Systems and XML authoring tools.
- Strong skills in illustration and graphic design with tools like Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop.
Industry Experience:
- Prior experience in Manufacturing/Engineering documentation is required.
Candidates should have a background in Computer Science, Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics Engineering, or a Master's in English, with at least 4 years of relevant experience. Advanced training or qualification in Technical Communication is preferred.
