**Who will you be working with?**
The Locomotive NPI Controls team owns the control architecture and embedded software requirement specification for the engine, electric drivetrain, and vehicle control system integration and leads the design and implementation of the application control logic, diagnostics, and protections to maximize product performance, reliability, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance. You will set, communicate, and execute objectives for self and others, and be accountable for project deliverables aligned with business outcomes.
**How will you make a difference?**
The Locomotive NPI Controls Engineer will support control system enhancements and new feature development for Wabtec's family of diesel electric, dual fuel, and hybrid diesel-battery locomotives, as well as marine and stationary engine systems. You will work as a part of a dynamic team to develop control strategy requirements and concepts, design and implement solutions, perform control system calibration and validation, and support issue resolution for both New Technology and New Product Introduction initiatives.

+ Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering
+ Minimum of 3 years' professional project experience in engine/powertrain systems, electrical systems/controls modeling, and/or control systems engineering

**What will your typical day look like?**
Essential responsibilities include:
+ Developing and enhancing engine, electric drivetrain, and vehicle control system concepts for new technology applications as part of new product introductions
+ Defining engine, electric drivetrain, and vehicle control feature/diagnostics requirements and documentation
+ Prototyping new control applications concepts/enhancements through modeling and simulation
+ Developing MATLAB scripts and SIMULINK models
+ Developing feature test procedures to ensure performance meets requirements
+ Performing and documenting failure modes analysis (DFMEA)
+ Supporting feature calibration and validation efforts in the engine test cell, integrated hardware simulator testing, locomotive system testing, customer acceptance and field in-service monitoring
+ Supporting design and documentation updates for safety and regulatory compliance assurance
+ Supporting commercial requisition and reliability growth through product and platform expansion

+ Leading the execution of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product/program requirements

**Role Summary/Purpose**
Design, implement, and test the MCA Platform Software architecture, including Core Platform Software services, and Middleware applications.
MCA (Modular Control Architecture) is the Next Gen Locomotive Control Architecture that modernizes the electronics, software, applications, and network communication compared to previous generations of locomotive controls. MCA has been a journey of Controls development to incrementally update aspects of various locomotive types, including Evo, AC44, Dash 9, and FLX locomotives, with the objective of improving software quality, improving engineering productivity, meeting cyber security expectations, all while addressing the latest customer needs.
**Essential Responsibilities**
This MCA Platform Software Engineer will focus on delivering and sustaining an integrated series of core software services, and middleware applications that are foundational to the MCA architecture. The Engineer will contribute to the definition of the strategy on which technologies to leverage, which security practices to employ, and will be responsible for implementing those strategies. This responsibility is cross functional in nature and requires close collaboration amongst various MCA teams.
In this role, you will:
+ Provide timely communications on significant issues, risks, or developments
+ Plan individual work for assigned MCA platform software features as input to project plans
+ Design, develop, maintain, and test MCA Platform SW: Platform Services, MCA Middleware applications to connect MCA Platform with Business Logic applications

Role Summary/Purpose
Design, implement, and test the MCA Platform Software architecture, including Core Platform Software services, and Middleware applications.
MCA (Modular Control Architecture) is the Next Gen Locomotive Control Architecture that modernizes the electronics, software, applications, and network communication compared to previous generations of locomotive controls. MCA has been a journey of Controls development to incrementally update aspects of various locomotive types, including Evo, AC44, Dash 9, and FLX locomotives, with the objective of improving software quality, improving engineering productivity, meeting cyber security expectations, all while addressing the latest customer needs.
Essential Responsibilities
This MCA Platform Software Engineer will focus on delivering and sustaining an integrated series of core software services, and middleware applications that are foundational to the MCA architecture. The Engineer will contribute to the definition of the strategy on which technologies to leverage, which security practices to employ, and will be responsible for implementing those strategies. This responsibility is cross functional in nature and requires close collaboration amongst various MCA teams.

What You'll Do
- Our Corporate IT Organization is driving the adaption of innovation across Eaton! In the role of Technical Leader of AI implementation, the individual will lead our innovative team in the development and deployment of cutting-edge technologies. This role requires expertise in managing Artificial Intelligence project deployments within cloud-native environments built on .NET, React, Generative AI and Agentic AI and will play a crucial role in strategic planning and execution, ensuring alignment with senior leadership, enterprise architecture, and security teams. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the IT industry, with 13 to 15 years of experience and a proven track record of managing technical teams
What Will You Do
- Lead and manage a team of technical resources, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment. Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, ensuring continuous professional development.
- Drive the implementation of complex AI projects, including Generative AI and Agentic AI solutions. Ensure the integration of AI technologies into existing systems and processes, enhancing overall business capabilities.
- Develop and execute comprehensive strategic plans that align with organizational goals. Collaborate with senior leadership to define project objectives, scope, and deliverables.
- Maintain clear and effective communication with stakeholders, including senior leadership, enterprise architecture, and security teams. Ensure alignment and transparency throughout the delivery lifecycle.
- Provide technical oversight through expertise on AI project deployments within cloud-native environments built on .NET, React, Generative AI and Agentic AI. Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements, incorporating best practices into project execution.
- Closely working with Product owners, Scrum Masters and Business Analysts to understand and align on product roadmaps and prioritization to drive business value
Qualifications
- 13 to 15 years of experience in the IT industry, with a minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience managing technical teams.
- A bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field is required. A master's degree or relevant certifications are preferred.
