About the position:
Emergency Management (EM) Specialist supports tactical emergency response preparedness across multiple field teams; drill and exercise coordination; skill development, training, and has a clear understanding of Emergency Response & Management; the Incident Command System and Crisis Management. The Emergency Management Specialist reports to the Workforce Safey Team Lead in the Chevron Engine in Bengaluru, India.
Key responsibilities:
- Provides basic technical support on emergency preparedness and response to local operations or other functional groups.
- Provides enterprise support for EM process requirements and expectations to BUs including Crisis Management (CM), Emergency Response (ER) and Business Continuity (BCP).
- Works closely with the Enterprise EM team, across the GCC, and with the field to advance EM priorities.
- Remotely supports planning, coordination, and execution of EM Enterprise engagements such as the Community of Practice, training, and drills and exercises.
- Support development and maintenance of Emergency Management (ER and CM) Plans e.g. Oil Spill Response Plans, Fire Protection Plans and Emergency Response Plans.
- Provides administrative support related to responder qualifications and medical clearances for the Corporate Emergency Response Teams (CERT).
- Provide technical support for emergency management applications supporting planning, mass notification, personnel qualification, training, and exercises.
- Gathers and reports data for performance measures, key performance indicators or metrics on emergency response activities
Required Qualifications:
- Basic knowledge and experience in emergency preparedness, including risk profiles and alignment of response plans.
- Basic proficiency in the Incident Command System (ICS).
- Experience with field emergency response, oil spill tactics, fire/explosion responses, and regulatory compliance.
- Ability to understand and comply with federal, state, and local emergency response requirements and frameworks.
- Experience in oil and gas operations or similar industries.
- Strong analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and project execution track record.
- Ability to build and sustain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:

Overview:

The Senior Manager – Engineering and Projects is a part of Site Leadership
The incumbent provides support to Plant Manager by leading all engineering, maintenance and project activities in the plant.

The role holder has to lead a team of engineers of various disciplines in planning, organizing and controlling the projects and engineering related activities within the plant. The role holder is responsible for managing maintenance of mechanical, electrical and instrumentation equipment’s, in house projects & manufacturing agenda for the site.

About the role!

  • To plan, schedule, implement, supervise and review maintenance of manufacturing assets to ensure reliability and availability of production assets at levels over 95%.
  • To innovate and drive energy initiatives at plant for energy savings and to reduce cost.
  • Handling and maintaining critical equipment “fit for purpose” by complying to integrity management for plant assets,
  • Implementation of engineering procedures to ensure full compliance to the BP Group Engineering standards and procedures.
  • Lead and drive Lean Manufacturing projects of the plant, one of the critical initiatives of BP/Castrol.
  • Formulate and acquire approval for the maintenance budget for conducting Maintenance activities,
  • Review, supervise and control the annual budget expenditures to agreed budget.
  • Forecast requirements and arrange for replenishment of spares to ensure adequate spares' availability, whilst keeping the inventory to an optimum level
  • Train and refresh the engineering skills of engineering technicians to equip them for autonomous maintenance,
  • To ensure compliance to statutory obligations in the impact area,
  • Assess need for up gradation and implement new projects/minor projects to meet business
  • requirements.
  • Ensuring compliance to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 requirements for plant.
  • Responsible for HSSE in Engineering (both people and equipment) activities and compliance to BP/Castrol HSSE standards.

Roles & responsibilities:

  • Act as BP Contract Accountable to ensure safe execution of the contracted work while applying the Working with Contractor process throughout for the contract period.
  • Act as Risk Owner for risk events as assigned in the facility risk register with accountabilities including accurate documentation and assessment of the risk event, consulting with domain experts as appropriate, assign action owners to risk reduction measures, monitoring and self-verification closure with efficiency and communication of the importance to the workforce that may be affected.
  • Ensure that all procedures falling under the ownership of this role are maintained and reviewed on the agreed frequency, kept up-to-date, and changes detailed and reflected in OMS ONLINE as appropriate. Communicate any changes to the procedures that may impact understanding to the affected workforce.
  • Act as project manager for develop & construction projects, and in ongoing facility operation, acting project manager to ensure operation of assets within safe operating and safe develop limits, and ensuring inspection and maintenance of facility assets to meet all applicable BP Group Defined

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Should be an Engineer with at least 10-12 years of experience in Manufacturing/FMCG Organization.
  • At least 10-12 years’ experience in engineering and maintenance activities in plants preferable supply chain areas.
  • Good knowledge of project management, planning, co-ordination, negotiations with sound commercial judgment and should be able to work well under pressure and with competing priorities.
  • Basic knowledge on statutory requirements like factories act, petroleum rules, electricity acts and rules.
  • Basic knowledge in electrical and instrumentation functions
  • This position requires good people management skills and should be able to lead a team – along with a battery of contractors.
  • Experience in communicating and interfacing with all levels of the organization and external agencies/ contacts including statutory bodies
  • Demonstrate ability to manage multiple activities concurrently
  • Computer literate - Expert knowledge of MS Project/Visio, MS Office specifically Excel.
  • Ability to use and take full advantage of appropriate tools in particular.

**How you'll spend your day**
1. Compliance & Quality
Ensure and mitigate quality risks and strengthen strong quality culture.
Developing and overseeing control systems to prevent or deal with violations of legal guidelines and internal policies. Also to ensure Data integrity compliance with respect to laid down procedures and systems.
Reviewing and approving of QMS documents with respect to the engineering department.
Handle site project-related statutory compliances and review it.
Approval of GMP Document destruction Log.
2.Project Management, Capex & Engineering
Plan and implement projects, also define project scope, goals and deliverables. Provide project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress
Create project schedule - timeline, define projects tasks and required resources. Allocate project resources of vendor and manage company project team.
Manage site project budget and its spending as per commitment, also prepare yearly project AOP.
Track deliverables, monitor and report on project progress. Evaluate and assess the result of the project.
Present to stakeholders reports on progress as well as problems and solutions.
Implement and manage change when necessary to meet project outputs, Measure project performance to identify areas for improvement.
Oversee the closure of projects within the approved budget.
Tracking & Monitoring of Capital Project Compliances.
3. Facility Management
Maintaining the facility and overseeing the daily administrative operations.
Creating and maintaining budgets for maintenance, repairs and contracts.
Oversee the cleaning, landscaping, Secuirity, Transportation, Telecom & Canteen services.
Oversee building projects and renovations.
Manage maintenance and staffing budgets.
Ensuring that facilities meet government regulations, health and security standards and energy efficiency requirements.
Develop and maintain a vendor base for a cost-efficient procurement of inventory.
Renewal of Annual service & AMC contracts in best prices.
4.Team Manager, Engineering Excellence
Manage contracts with vendors and suppliers by assigning tasks and communicating expected deliverables.
Manage reporties and their performance. Review from time to time with them and lead annual performance review.
Assists in development and monitoring implementation of Project Excellence policies, procedures, and processes.
Monitors performance of the Projects against KPIs and objectives on a regular basis.
5.Safety Management
To roll out best safety rules, procedures, practices & ensure implementation of the same.
Make sure that notification, investigation, and case management of project site injuries and incidents are in collaboration with management.
Ensure Contractor site safety and permit system adherence, also Conduct audits, inspections, and performance reviews to ensure compliance.
Ensure that all employees work in accordance with the internal policies and procedures, contract documents, and good engineering practices.
Any other job/activity, as assigned by the reporting supervisor / management from time to time.

Position Overview:

The Assistant Manager / Deputy Manager – Engineering Projects will be responsible for the detailed execution and monitoring of capital projects, ensuring on-time and cost-effective completion of greenfield and brownfield initiatives. The role involves hands-on coordination with vendors, contractors, and internal teams to deliver infrastructure and utilities projects as per defined quality, safety, and compliance standards.


Key Responsibilities:


Project Execution & Planning:

• Manage end-to-end execution of assigned engineering and infrastructure projects, ensuring timely completion within approved budgets.

• Prepare detailed project plans covering timelines, activity sequences, resources, and risk mitigation measures.

• Track daily and weekly progress against milestones and promptly escalate deviations with corrective action plans.


Procurement & Coordination:

• Coordinate with procurement for timely placement of orders and follow-up on delivery schedules.

• Ensure contractor work progress, manpower planning, and billing align with project timelines.

• Collaborate with design, production, and quality teams to ensure technical alignment and readiness.


Documentation & Compliance:

• Maintain project documentation, including drawings, technical data sheets, and statutory records.

• Ensure readiness for internal and external audits through systematic record keeping and compliance with engineering standards.

• Monitor adherence to safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements across all project activities.


Reporting & Review:

• Prepare detailed MIS and progress reports for senior management review.

• Highlight risks, dependencies, and potential delays, recommending practical solutions.

• Ensure transparent communication and accountability across all project stakeholders.


Continuous Improvement:

• Identify opportunities to improve project efficiency, cost optimization, and process reliability.

• Support implementation of digital tools, dashboards, and standardized reporting systems for enhanced visibility.


Key Requirements:

• B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering.

• 7–14 years of experience in capex project execution, infrastructure setup, and commissioning.

• Strong knowledge of project planning tools and progress tracking dashboards.

• Hands-on experience in managing vendors, contractors, and service providers.

• Exposure to regulatory and EHS compliance in project environments.

• Excellent communication, analytical, and documentation skills.
