Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced Level 3 Wireless Network Engineer with deep expertise in both Cisco and Aruba wireless technologies . The ideal candidate will lead the design, deployment, troubleshooting, and optimization of enterprise-grade wireless infrastructures. You will act as a subject matter expert (SME), resolving high-level wireless issues and driving continuous improvements in performance, scalability, and security.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deploy large-scale wireless LAN (WLAN) environments using Cisco WLCs and Aruba (Mobility Controllers, Instant APs, Central).
- Optimize channel planning , band steering , and power level adjustments to reduce interference and maximize coverage.
- Architect and implement high-availability wireless designs , including N+1 controller redundancy, LAGs, VRRP/HA groups.
- Administer Cisco WLCs (9800) and Aruba Mobility Controllers (MM/MC architecture) .
- Configure WLANs, SSIDs, AAA policies, and AP groups with role-based access control (RBAC).
- Implement Fast Roaming (802.11r/k/v) , bandwidth throttling , application visibility , and WIPS/WIDS .
- Manage firmware upgrades , controller failovers , and AP image preloading strategies.
- Integrate with RADIUS servers (ISE, forescout) for 802.1X authentication.
- Configure Guest access portals , MAC-based authentication , and Captive Portals (internal and external).
- Analyze wireless packet captures using Wireshark , or Aruba AirWave/Central .
- Resolve L2/L3 roaming issues, high latency, client disconnections, and interference problems.
- Monitor KPIs like SNR, RSSI, retransmission rates, and throughput to identify RF anomalies.
- Correlate client issues using Aruba Central
Required Skills & Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in enterprise wireless networking .
- Strong hands-on expertise in both Cisco and Aruba wireless ecosystems .
- Proficiency with:
- Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers (9800 Series, AireOS, Catalyst APs)
- Aruba Controllers , Instant APs , Aruba Central , AirWave
- Wireless security protocols : WPA2/WPA3, 802.1X, PSK, MAC auth
- Authentication systems : Cisco ISE

**Key Tasks and Responsibilities:**
+ Perform conceptual, FEED, and detailed analyses and design as per design basis, project specifications, design codes, and standards related to Telecom systems
+ Apply in-depth skills and broad knowledge of the business to address complex problems and non-standard situations
+ Prepare clear and accurate detailed design calculations and analyses including design reports and procedures

Job Description
The Network & Telecom Engineer will be responsible for implementing, monitoring and maintaining all company networks and telephony configurations. We have adopted a Cisco networking standard for all switch, router, and firewall hardware and as such we need someone with hands-on practical Cisco networking experience.Our wide area network (WAN) consists of 106 sites across the United States, Canada, Mexico and India and is a Fortinet SDWAN design. Additionally, the company has recently migrated the Cisco phone system from an on-premise configuration to the Cisco Cloud, utilizing Webex Calling and Webex Contact Center. As such, this position will work closely with a 3rd party managed services organization in support of these platforms as well.

Responsibilities and Skills Required
A strong background with Cisco networking is an absolute.
Experience with Cisco telephony products, particularly Webex Calling, Webex Contact Center and management of services via the Cisco Control Hub.
Possess a firm understanding of SIP-trunking architectures and can manage phone number transfers from both analog and other SIP providers in support of acquisitional activities.
Five to Ten years of experience in a large-scale networking environment consisting of 100+ nodes.
Five to Ten years of experience managing Cisco hardware components including Cisco Firepower, wireless LAN controllers, routers, and switches (including Catalyst and Nexus 7K and 9K).
Bachelor's degree in information technology or equivalent; or 5-10 years related experience in LAN/WAN networking environments.
Provide primary support for the enterprise WAN/LAN/WLAN environment.
Experience with Fortinet SDWAN technologies both from an implementation and support standpoint.
In-depth knowledge and experience with on-prem Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers and wireless networking best practices. Ability to design, implement, configure, manage, and troubleshoot wireless networks, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
Document network and device diagrams, with process flow diagrams as required as part of the Change Management process.
Monitors network and device performance, recommends, and implements changes.
Collaborates with our network support vendors and partners as required
Collaborates with our telecom managed services organization in maintaining the health of our telecom platform.
Implements device and network changes while adhering to company change control policies.
Responsible for enterprise core networking design, support and maintenance for Cisco Routing, Firewall and Switching at multiple locations
Perform troubleshooting using tools such as Wireshark for packet captures and traffic analysis to resolve issues
Maintain IP scheme and manage DHCP scopes and DNS records. Experience with an enterprise DDI management platform, such as Efficient IP used by Overhead Door, is highly preferred.
Experience upgrading and patching firmware on Cisco network infrastructure
