About the Role:

Join the fast-paced Cardiac Catheter Laboratory at Canberra Hospital, where advanced cardiac diagnostic, interventional, and electrophysiology procedures support patients with both acute and chronic conditions. With three state-of-the-art labs providing 24/7 care and a dedicated Day Procedure Unit, this is a dynamic and vital area of cardiac services. Operating Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 5:00pm, with on-call STEMI coverage after hours, Registered Nurses play a key role in a skilled multidisciplinary team, delivering critical, life-saving care in a highly specialised setting.

• Strong background in scrub nursing with an emphasis on cardiac surgeries, upholding sterile and safe environments.
• Proficient in patient care, offering compassionate support and attending to their needs before and after surgeries.
• Experience working as a staff nurse, demonstrating excellent teamwork and communication skills within medical teams.

• Collaborate with anesthesiologists and surgeons to deliver optimal patient outcomes during and after surgeries.

• Maintain accurate surgical records, including instrument counts and patient information, ensuring compliance with medical standards.
• Participate in training and development opportunities to expand skills and stay updated on advancements in cardiac surgical care.
• Support the medical team and provide guidance to junior staff to foster a cooperative and productive work environment.
