We are looking for a talented VFX Generalist who can also take on supervisory responsibilities for an upcoming independent horror feature film. This role suits highly skilled artists ready to lead a small freelance VFX team and manage delivery.
Role Overview:- Create and execute a variety of VFX shots including compositing, rotoscoping, cleanup, and minor effects
- Build and lead a small team of freelance VFX artists (generalists, compositors, UI artists, etc.)
- Break down the VFX requirements and plan the delivery schedule
- Review and supervise the quality and timing of all VFX work
- Act as the main point of contact for director/editor regarding VFX progress and feedback
- Ensure all final VFX shots are delivered on time and meet creative expectations
- Strong hands-on VFX skills across multiple disciplines (compositing, roto, clean-up, basic effects)
- Prior experience or interest in supervising or managing a small VFX team
- Comfortable working remotely and coordinating freelance artists
- Good communication, organization, and time-management skills

● Assist Show team with timely delivery of shots, staying on budget and schedule.
● Work closely with editorial, color, and effects teams to ensure final output consistency.
● Maintain regular communication with stakeholders, Producers and clients on project progress.
Skills & Qualifications:
● 5–8+ years of VFX experience, including at least 3–5 years in a VFX Supervisory role
● Demonstrated expertise in VFX pipeline, compositing, lighting, FX simulations.
● Proficiency in industry-standard software (e.g., Maya, Nuke, Houdini, Silhouette, After Effects also valued)
● Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills from a creative standpoint.
● Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and bids/scheduling management abilities
● Comfortable with client-facing responsibilities and effective stakeholder engagement.
● Articulate technical ideas and creative feedback clearly to both artists and leadership.
● Ability to adapt and adjust to multiple projects with varying turnaround times short, medium and long term.
● (Optional) On occasion, may be required to perform hands-on support in the form of creative demonstration.
